Blanca has rather strong feelings about hail/sleet! She just doesn't like objects falling on her head!
A sleet shower five minutes before ruined my plans for the day. As all rental cars in the UK are equipped only with all-weather tyres and I only had a 2-wheel-drive, this climb towards Neist Point lighthouse was too much for my car. I had to turn around only 2km from the destination. The first of a few difficult or critical driving situations in Scotland. Luckily, two days later the road situation was better and I was able to see the lighthouse.
Had an hour in the local woods yesterday, the sun had been shining nicely all morning, but the light was in and out when I left the house (typcial) Manage to get a few shots, then it snowed for just a few moments. Certainly was cold enough out there. Managed to capture the moment it was coming down and luckily the light was out at the same time.

Some sleet showers in the mountains behind. Photo taken near Corviglia, St. Moritz, Switzerland.
Thank you for your visits / comments / faves!
The sun came out on the morning after a rare winter storm dropped ice, sleet, and snow on North Texas, slowly melting the snow & ice away.
I took about 850 images of this POV and considered myself very lucky to have captured this one at the right time!😊
This concludes my "Special Winter Series".
I wish you a very pleasant weekend; thank you for your visit, fave and/or kind comments!🌹
Making that photo gave me the chance to test the weatherseeling qualities of my camera. To be honest, unintentionally. I didn't feel relaxed, but everything went well.
Dieses Foto gab mir die Gelegenheit, die Versiegelung meiner Kamera zu testen. Nicht ganz freiwillig. Ich hab mich nicht wohl dabei gefühlt, doch, es ist alles bestens verlaufen.
A rash of sleet showers passes over Dow Crag and its 'ridge'.
A similar rash had caught us as we made our way up South Rake on Dow Crag (previous upload). Thankfully they were transient and soon disappeared completely to give a fine end to the afternoon.
Is snow & sleet far away, now the weather is getting colder and the days shorter once more?
Taken from the top floor of a friends house in January 2010. An almost abstract view.
Hail, rain, sleet, snow...wind and sun.
I’ve been in a hotel since Tuesday...can’t get home, I’m snowed/iced-out. Maybe get home tomorrow.
For this, I rushed back to the hotel from work. Quickly changed and drove back to the beach. The weather has been quite bad, this week, so it was lovely to see the sun.

Alas, April 20 and a wintry mix of sleet-snow and freezing temps today. . .not good for the spring flowers that have popped up. . .hope everyone else is having better weather than in the Ozarks.

The weeks go by faster and faster, but I must admit being tempted by some rather special weather conditions that we had for the month of February. Rain, snow and sleet that day, February 10, didn't seem to bother the birds or affect their appetites. So I took a break and took the time to take some pictures.
Here this beautiful male Pine Grosbeak who is soaked by the rain and who is now under a torrent of sleet. Very gray weather and poor light...
Whatever the subject matter I think we are all looking for that 'definitive photograph'
For me (so far) this picture defines the winter of 2017/18
The warm and vibrant colours of the Goldfinch set against a backdrop of cold wind and driving sleet
It's almost like he's searching the horizon for a glimmer of the spring and easier times
Unfortunately not yet my beautiful little friend
But hang on in there., it's on its way!
Cold and windy with periods of snow, sleet and freezing drizzle and wishing I was in Carolina (preferably South Carolina)
North Yorkshire Moors (not enough snow!)
Was hoping to get grouse in snow but only snow on road and turned to sleet quite quickly!
when I left my house it looked very promising for a nice sunset, but arriving at the place a sleet storm hit me which enforced me to leave immediately, I was able to make just one snapshot.
Yesterday was sleet. I lay down on my stomach in the garden to take pictures of these delicate, tiny crybabies. They are no more than 4-6 mm high and it was difficult to get some skylight into the photo. I got about 6 good shots, maybe I'll do a No. 1, 2, 3, 4 ect- series.
Stay healthy all!
Another shot of the sneet (snow sleet mix) the branch actually held some of the last snow flakes, and in the background rabbit tracks under the limbs.
This shot was taken in January on the Königsallee, which is usually teeming with life...
In hindsight a picture with a sense of foreboding of what was to come perhaps!?
I liked the rain drops on the umbrella in this shot, and the way the couple are walking in step...
Il pleut... Pardon, je recommence...
Y'r'pieut ! Et c'te fois, c'est une bonne giboulée grêleuse !
Planquez-vous, ce n'est que passager...!
Freezing rain, a bit treacherous getting out and about. . .and this street is classic Americana -- the famed route 66 that runs through the Missouri Ozarks. . .
Snow Day American Flag through a wet window, some light snow and sleet overnight, shot in north Carolina.
A shot taken on Tuesday afternoon in Wasdale with passing rain/sleet/snow showers and a rainbow thrown in for good measure. The rainbow seemed to be about 20m away.
Sonw day in Shreveport. We had 4 inches of snow with sleet and freezing rain also. Needless to say here in south there are no sch things as snow plows. No way to salt or open up the interstate bridges. Taken from my front porch.
My morning with Dad
(Neither rain nor sleet...)
