More people have told me that the Albatros D-Series is their favourite World War I era plane than any other model of that period. Its sleek design was certainly ahead of its time. If you're an Albatros fanatic, this one's for you.

As we left the harbour there were various yachts and motor boats travelling by. This sleek and speedy modern boat looked so modern against the backdrop of the city of Athens in the hills behind. Just a reminder of how Greece has to manage both the old and the new.
While we had an itinerary of which islands our ship was going to visit it was determined by the weather, winds and I'm presuming the timetables of other ships. Many of the Cyclades Islands are quite small and I was interested to see what security and port arrangements there would be.
There is a lot of $$ floating around in these waters!
Recently, I was fortunate enough to get a showing of a private collection of phenomenal proportions, which included several cars, motorcycles, toys, and Americana. This is but one of the displays of Ford "muscle cars" as they've evolved.

Influenced by World War II planes combined obscure starfighter designs from the old X-wing, TIE Fighter, and The Old Republic games, the Fireball is one of the best looking starfighters in all of Star Wars.
I am a bit upset that LEGO did not make an official model of the Fireball... yet. I hope they do in the future. This prompted me to design my own version, and it turned out more complex than I anticipated.
But I like to build things to be a perfect match, which makes things complicated and challenging. I exhausted my brain to apply all kinds of building techniques to convey the complex shape of this ship. There are also some really ancient and obscure LEGO Technic pieces utilized in the complexity of this model.
Also from Zimbabwe is Euwitt Nyanhongo (°1973), whose art is shown in this photo.
Springstone is a very hard and finely textured Serpentine rock with a high iron content. It polishes to a high shine because of its density.

Once the most modern, "sleekest" looking, and fastest shinkansen in Japan, the 500 Series' days on the rails are dwindling.
Introduced in 1996, the literal bullet shaped train was the pinnacle of speed. With a top speed of 320kph (199mph in American), these where the worlds fastest bullet trains before the TGV took the lead in 2001. These 500 Series operated on the Nozomi Shinkansen services between Tokyo and Hakata, the fastest service offered on JR Central and West between the two cities.
Nowadays, they are relegated to the stopping services (Kodama) between Osaka and Hakata, including one "Hello Kitty" Shinkansen. Unlike their 700 Series counterparts, their 2-2 seating arrangement and tubular design make it a somewhat cramped ride. They are planned to be replaced by the N700 Series by 2027. Despite their limited use, catching one is always a great treat.
