My first Plane, I am sure it's not the last. This one is inspired by Pillowpistol`s Chibi Stunt Flyer.

Fiddled a bit with some limited parts at hand and cranked out a couple of fun and quick micro Sky-Fi nuggets...

Major Giacomo “Vic” Victore was given command over the first and only squadron of seventeen P-55 Pit Vipers built and flown during WWII. Entering service in early 1945, the P-55’s high efficiency turboprops (rather than turbojets, which early German jet fighters utilized) allowed for longer flight times and high sustained speeds needed to battle the German jet fighters. It is a common misconception of the war that the German jets arrived too late on the scene to cause the Allies any problems- in truth, it was the Pit Vipers chasing the gas-guzzling German jets back to their bases that signified the doom for the Luftwaffe. In just a few short months over the European skies, Major Vic’s Vipers, as they would come to be known, cut a swath through the remains of the German Air Forces.

The only threat to the P-55 was the Horton Ho 409 Blutsauger (Vampire Bat), a sneaky German jet fighter equipped with RADAR and loads of fuel. Blutsaugers would circle hidden in the clouds waiting for Vipers chasing bait fighters and attack when vulnerable. Blutsaugers were equipped with newer, more efficient turbofan engines, and when laden with fuel this enabled the 409’s to outlast the P-55. Viper pilots were prone to calling them “flying fuel tanks” for their ability to stay airborne for such long periods.

The P-55 utilized several ahead-of-its-time features incorporated after the Allies were able to emancipate many of Europe’s most brilliant minds. In addition to the turboprop, which provided the speed of a jet with the relative efficiency of a conventional prop system, the P-55 used a swept forward wing design to cut through the sky. Flaps and air brakes compensated for the smaller surface area on the backs of the wings.

Seen here is Capt. Elias J. Gold II’s P-55A, dubbed “Plane Jane.” Capt. Gold was the Viper Ace, marking 22 official kills as well as wreaking havoc on tanks, infantry, and support units across Europe. Like the other Vipers built, “Plane Jane” did not survive the war. Capt. Gold was shot down deep inside German airspace by a Blutsauger wolfpack days before Germany surrendered.

There it is, my latest Sky-fi plane. I had two versions of it, so I asked at Instagram and Facebook, which one I should build. This is the more realistic version most people want me to build. But hey stay tuned for my favourite, the Sky-fi version. 😁

“The Menace of the South“ they call her. Ivy Cash may well be the most notorious bandit – and arguably the best quadcopter pilot – between El Paso and Santa Fe of the 2050s. All attempts to apprehend her have failed so far; out in the desert she manages to shake off even the most advanced pursuit drones over and over again.

Here we go, time for an airplane. This time in dark blue (i ever wanted to build one in dark blue ^^).

btw. I need a better Name, any ideas?

After a long break, I continued to build my next airplane. I started the construction some month ago, but then I lost the enthusiasm for it. Some weeks ago I met Er0l and that gave me the right impulse to go on. So sty tuned for more pictures.

The Secret Missions

- Take to the skies in the Arclight S-23 Fast-Response Interceptor

Last year I build a some small skypoint airbase vignettes (mainly for Steinewahn and Bricking Bavaria). For that I built some support cars but I was not able to take a picture so far… So here is the first support truck.

I haven't posted much on flickr lately, or at least publicly, but I am still alive and most definitely still building. I have been focused on a pretty cool collab project for Brickworld Chicago, which hopefully some of you will get to see in person (only 3 weeks to go!!!).

This airplane MOC was an impulse build that I built a day or two ago. I had been canabalizing my original Ma.K Platypus for parts, and then something sparked the idea of making a sky-fi airplane out of remaining scrap heap chassis. I'm pretty pleased with the result. That said, I'm open to any suggestions for improvement. Thanks.

Just a montage of my planes.

Well, it just didn't feel right without an edited in flight shot. And I wanted to show more closely the nose of this guy which I'm pleased of how it turned out.

Enjoy !

The V-30 Warhawk was developed by Blackshaw Avionics as a long-range fighter and was primarily used by the Arcadian Air Force for escort duties. The plane pictured is the “Spirit of Freedom” and was one of the four planes that escorted the Arcadian Royal Airship during and after the Great War. The three other fighters were the “Spirit of Hope”, the ” Spirit of Justice” and the “Spirit of Destiny”. All pilots were hand-picked by the Head of Airborne Forces and included some of the very finest pilots in the Kingdom. The crew consisted of one pilot and one gunner although both cabins were fitted so that if either crew member was killed the other could take over their duties. Each Warhawk was fitted with four Haverlock “Banshee” engines and four 24mm machine guns. Here we see the pilots, Colonel Septimus Grey and Lt. Colonel Axel Tomas.

This is my P-51 X-Stang A Star Wars/WW2 crossover MOC based on the P-51 Mustang

In the Great War industrial espionage was common. The Heliconian High Command managed to get hold of several blueprints including that of the P-23 Skywolf. The plans were studied and improved upon, notably, the nose-mounted rocket launcher was removed and replaced with four 30mm cannons. Other improvements were made to the streamlining and 2 stabilizer fins were fitted above the main wings. After the War many falcons were bought by local freelancers as well as for private air forces. The plane we see here is freelancer Yvette Gagnaire's plane the "Queen of Hearts", the trademark blue of the Heliconian Airforce being replaced with her own personal white and red livery.

Originally a cargoship, this adventuring vessel was first commandeered by it's heroic pilot, Edvar Figgens, after he had an encounter with the Musina's Royal Air Police. Being an adventurer, Figgens of course did not pay for the airship but merely jumped into the controls while it's original pilot was eating a spicy sausage.

Adventurers are not complete without a few scantily-clad females. Figgens has two. One was originally the mistress to a wealthy crime lord in Bulava. The other was part of the crew that manned the Airborne Jade when it was still a cargoship.

The Super Eagle is what happens when you take a really big bomber and add jets. In addition to the jets, this version has a much thicker and more realistic wing (I basically just cloned the entire airplane and flipped it), and has a slightly less ugly fuselage. Not by much, though, I'm still not happy with the cockpit. Let me know if you want to fiddle with the design. It's pressurized now, BTW. Also, the thicker wings give it internal bomb bays trust me they exist, landing gear I said trust me, and bigger fuel tanks to compensate for the jets' higher consumption realism is boring, OK?

Oh, and Tropika Korps color scheme.

Stats:

Engines: 6 jets (No, really?)

Payload:: 11,900 lbs.

Range: 7,278 mi, 11,405 mi with no bombload

Maximum Speed: 437 mph

Service Ceiling: 33,028 ft

Rate of Climb: 1,100 ft/min

I've been stuck in an epic black hole of no building inspiration for months now, and having to take it easy on my arm isn't helping. Will sent me some flintlock pistols and a bunch of other stuff recently, so these figs aren't much more than an attempt to kick-start my creativity by putting Will's gifts to work. The intent is something of a sky-fi/steampunk vibe.

These two are supposed to be "hero" figs. The next pic has some villains to go with them.

a plane built for air combat...the guns are the balls... similar to a Tesla Coil

A variant of the Airborne Jade, the Savage Angel is the personal flagship of Jelerek Bovin, the noted necromancer and famed Confederate Knight. This airship is the fastest frigate-size vessel in Se's Ti.

I always meant to do this, but never got around to it (put in a background that is). Well, now I have - the Red Zephyr flies again!

At the beginning it was a plane. While building I think, I sometimes made a wrong turn. Now let me say it is something like a spacejet ;).

Trying out some ideas for radial engines using the Alien Conquest double-barrelled handguns.

I just love making these small planes...

Nothing new here really, just a montage of some of my recent planes.

Last Sky-Fi plane for now... back to ground level.

Vanessa Grun with her custom-built skybike. The bike is built around a V8 Haverlock "Banshee" engine salvaged from a downed V-30 Warhawk.

Just a fairly quick dieselpunk speeder bike I knocked up using the basic engine design from one of my earlier planes ( www.flickr.com/photos/25163007@N07/5766853848/in/set-7215...)

The P-72A gunship, codenamed “Skyhammer” was developed by Arcadia Aeronautics for the Kovlakian Airborn Artillery. It was devised as a counter measure to the threat of the new armoured Zeppelins, and proved extremely effective against them. It also saw extensive use in the Battle of Syrrah where squadrons flew low in night attacks to destroy the city’s heavily fortified walls. The plane here is painted in night camo colours and is piloted by Lt Colonel Dirk Salvo. It is armed with two 20mm front–firing machine guns and a 400mm artillery cannon which carries a maximum of six shells.

CNC racing league made lots of fun, so why not do some kind of sky racing? Ok... here we go, let's start with a shape you may recognize. It's an homage to one of my previous racing ships. 😉

Small and quick addition to my Sky Fighter Squad...

Since it's very unlikely I'll have time to finish, photograph and upload any more models before the end of the year I'm posting this round up of this year's mocs. A paltry five this year, no-where near as many as 2012's nine. Life sometimes gets in the way of the creative stuff!

- a year in Lego -

That's it for 2014. I was a little bit lost in space, but building one of Jons planes, brings me back to Sky-fi. The next plane is already in building stage. I wished I had more time to build some more, but otherwise there were so great things around. I participate in some contests and I've won some Lego prices, both for the first time ^^. I met other AFOLs und I found some good friends out there.

Big aim for next year is to participate in an exhibition ;o)
