I jumped out of a plane yesterday. I probably didn't look as cool as this guy, but it was my first time and that means I probably got the bigger rush. But I should explain that he's not some idiot getting blown away by a gust of wind. Before he jumped he saw me shooting and told me to watch out for his red/black chute because he was going to do something cool. Sure enough, he comes straight for me at about 50mph and then tugs the left handle and whips it around in an instant. The guy's completely sideways from the ground about 10 feet from it!
The views were staggering, I wish I had anything from up there but my instructor's camera died on the way up. It was right on the border so Mexico dominated the view to the south. San Diego was just behind us to the north, and the sun going down over the Pacific to the west was pretty hard to take my eyes off. Plus, we just never get clouds like these in Southern California. Maybe like 5 days a year. I'd say it was breathtaking, but that was probably just the fact that I wasn't getting enough oxygen at 13,000 feet.
This is one of those shots that underwhelms me slightly when I look at it at 500px wide. Viewing it large helps, but this is really a shot that needs to be printed. BIG.

Accidental something. This camera has a 'gotcha' when you use a cable release at the lens verse the shutter button.
Close shot of the rig and gear after landing. The open parachute is bunched, with the lines in a daisy chain over my shoulder. Also in view is the altimeter (wrist), one-way radio (chest pouch), and flotation device (waist).

The plane Jade & Emma went up in & their parachute dive down to ground safely. Although Jade did land on her knees ! Luckily no injury
