A few months ago I won a skydive in a Facebook competition.
Today I did it. I jumped, or at least was pushed, from a aircraft at 14,000 feet.
I didn't take this picture (Wade, the experienced skydiver I was attached to, did it) but I wish I had done.
Don't let this picture fool you - the initial freefall scared me more than anything else I have ever gone though. I was absolutely terrified.

Skydiving the south of the island over Maspalomas dunes
skydiving had long been on my list of things to do before I died and while traveling across New Zealand for a month last year i was staying in the Lake Taupo area and the opportunity arose--so i jumped on it! of all the places i could have done it, this was probably the most amazing. 12,000 feet above the lake, strapped to a gargantuan Brazil jump master... well, it was about all i could do to keep from soiling myself!
the free-fall was intense but honestly, the best part for me was after we pulled the chute and we were just drifting slowly down toward the earth, from a mile up... the view was insane. i was actually shaking a little bit from fear and adrenaline. but i'd do it again in a heartbeat.
I was thinking about having a go but failed the medical with ease.
