Just a flower pot from my father's house.

I am thinking about taking a course at a nearby University called Theme Photography. I think it sounds rather interesting, but I am just not sure yet. I am not what you would call "artistic," so I am thinking this would be a course that will really challenge me. Here is the description:

"Prepare to be challenged! Theme Photography challenges your imagination and develops your artistic skills by inviting the student to photograph the intangible. Sensations, feelings and perception are all fair game in this course aimed at strengthening the students' ability to introduce artistic depth into their photographic work."

What do you think?

A little while before I'd been preoccupied while within the hospital grounds, when I suddenly heard a familiar noise from down on the road below, which warranted stopping what I was doing to look. That noise was the roar of a Dennis Trident, which was slowly making its way along the hospital loop road - of course I was pleased that I'd seen it, but disappointed I'd missed photting it.

Disappointment didn't last long though, as the very same Trident (or at least one that looked identical) appeared out on the main road, at just the perfect moment for me to encounter it while walking towards the roundabout. Although I've photted this particular one before, it's nice to see Skills ex-Lothian Plaxton President SIL7028 again. Is this the only one in their fleet, or have Skills got more of these that I need to try and track down?

The luck was with me here, as while waiting for the 50 to show up I had the added bonus of a Skills Plaxton President coming along - I was fully expecting it to turn off towards Sneinton when it turned up in the left lane. Didn't get blocked by traffic either!

Unexpectedly, but successfully, spotted 'n photted at the Manvers Street railway overpass is Skills Coaches Plaxton President bodied Dennis Trident SIL 7028, previously SN04 AEL at Lothian.

Skills of Nottingham operate a number of ex-Lothian buses including this Volvo B9TL with Wright Gemini bodywork, SN0BYF. Seen in Ambergate, Derbyshire on 13/09/2022.

Saturday 16th April 2022 saw Liverpool play Manchester City in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. With the West Coast Main Line affected by engineering works, it was bound to produce a good selection of coaches with around 250 turning up. I noted 22 different coach body manufacturers to give plenty of variety to the day.

First time here, love this spot and will be back

Another look back at the coaches attending the Championship Play off final that took place at Wembley (24/05/2025) in front of 82,718 Sheffield United and Sunderland fans. Between them they brought down 250 coaches much to the delight of the gathered coach photters! In the end, Sunderland gained promotion after an 8 year absence from the Premier League.

A day in the Smoke today (25/10/2025) and a wander from Waterloo to Victoria via the O2, Stratford, Liverpool St, Marble Arch, Park Lane and Hyde Park Corner. Stotts had their brand spanking new National Express branded Temsa HD13 ST75TTS on the 561 to Bradford, Galloways added a bit of extra colour to Victoria, a German Neoplan Cityliner and a pair of Czech Setras were spotted at the O2 coach park, and a 2008 Van Hool Astron T917 with RG Live logos parked up just where we were standing! Good day.

This was a nice surprise! Following on from the Redfern Levante two days before, spotted in the same place and also looking great in green is this ex-Lothian Gemini that has been finished in the current iteration of Skills livery. I have to say the body styling and livery really do each other justice here, as the original Gemini design still looks fresh today and this dark emerald/black livery does actually make the older deckers look quite sleek.

Unfortunately the bright red and blue interior doesn't exactly sit right with the outside, but I can hardly complain because the roller blinds have been kept. Everything Skills need is probably on it already; Private; School Service; Rail Replacement; Not in Service - what more do you need when it isn't being used for stage carriage work? Will be interesting to see if any random Edinburgh destinations appear at any time.

Having this livery on different double deckers has got me thinking now. I wonder what a Skills old-style E400 would look like? Or an ALX400? I might have to do those as either a drawing or on OMSI in the future. A full on OMSI repaint pack? I'm getting too ahead of myself.
