It isn't every season that this section of the mountain is able to open. This is a pretty rare sight after a 20" late season snow storm.
Mount Hood, called Wy'east by the Multnomah tribe, is a potentially active stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc of northern Oregon. Mount Hood is considered the Oregon volcano most likely to erupt, though based on its history, an explosive eruption is unlikely. Still, the odds of an eruption in the next 30 years are estimated at between 3 and 7 percent, so the U.S. Geological Survey characterizes it as "potentially active", but the mountain is informally considered dormant.

Ich fuhr mit dem Auto ins Tösstal bis zum Skilift Steg. Von dort aus wanderte ich der Töss entlang, bis zu diesem traumhaften Ort (Buri genannt). Ich freue mich, weitere Wasserfälle zu suchen :)

Ski lift at Whitetail. Whitetail Mountain Resort is a four season resort located on Two Top Mountain in the Tuscarora Mountains of Pennsylvania. In winter Whitetail offers 19 trails with skiing, snowboarding and tubing. Print size 8x10 inches.
Mt Buller, Victoria, Australia
We spent a week walking in and around Mt Buller in the summer, along with trail bikers and, for a wekend, people on the Hut2Hut running a 100k.

All the infrastructure (chalets, pubs, hotels, apartments resturaunts and extensive snow making facilities) is for the short snow season. This lasts about 4 months (June -September).
An iPhone shot from a couple of weeks ago as the snow relented after a few days to set up the best start to the season for over 20 years in Les Gets, France.
