Just back from a week long ski hiking in the wilderness of #Lapland. Being in nature (and being away from mass media and hysteria) is good to lower your heart beat, blood pressure and thus lower stress, anxiety and depressing feelings. More important it improves your immunity (researched by Dr. Li from Nippon Medical school in Japan). These are all very welcome effects in these times but in any time of our modern lives. Being so long out in the wilderness on skis was a bit out of my comfort zone but that´s where the magic happens. And wow, quite an adventure and an amazing experience. We were 2 to spend a few nights in open huts that you can find here in national parks and a few nights in the tent one with even temperatures until -20. But as I learned here in Lapland from other hikers: there is no such thing as bad weather only bad equipment. All totally worth it to see the beautiful open landscapes where only small birches grow, where the snow is maidenly white, the air is so pure and the silence is incredible. Never experienced Lapland like this!

Stumbled upon this at East Coast after gorging food at East Coast Lagoon Food Village. Usually head there at night so didn't realise what I thought was a quiet fishing pond is actually a water ski circuit! There's also a sandcastle building site near by the food village where I went for a 'workshop' there last year and had fun building sandcastle :o)

Skiing at Wan Long Ski Resort in Zhiang Jia Kou. Andreina skis like a fiend. Without the reins, they're be no stopping her.
This picture was taken at the top of Loveland ski mountain. Every 1000 meter increase in elevation comes a 6°C decrease in temperature. This mountain's summit is 13,010 feet high, hence, there is an abundance of snow. This mountain is one of the highest ski mountains in Colorado.
