Using the same Altenew set, I wanted to create a loose, sketchy look. So, I stamped the images in pale gray ink and then went over them with coloured pencils on pale gray card. Hero Arts sentiment.

Description:
I'm just practicing here for a portrait shoot coming in a few days for a client. This is close to what they're looking for technically. Hopefully it's what they're looking for.
I set my tripod and camera about ten feet away from the subject. The subject is in open shade with two flashes opposite from the direction of the sun in late afternoon. This puts the subject directly between the flash and where the sun is in the sky with some tree's between the subject and the sun. I have one flash with it's built in diffuser on half power to soften some of the light on the subject. The other is full power and directed at the subject's face with the fresnel lens zoomed in to the face. The two flashes share a stand and wireless remote.
I know the bright green grass is a little distracting, but this is a different location from where I will be doing the actual shoot. So hopefully I won't have anything super distracting like that.
Soon to be scaled back to sustainable sizes. Made with iPad apps Mobile Monet HD, PhotoWizard, and Procreate. One of my intentions here was for the look of paper collages that use cutouts of b&w illustrations from old dictionaries and guide books, which is close to where the micro-organisms and tarantula came from (Google books from before 1920). The result is sort of an idea drawing of seven different species of life arranged in a simple circle design, with the three micro-organisms totally out of whack, beyond their natural scale and getting plenty of curious attention. Surreal, for sure. In the real world, the only one of these seven life forms overgrown unsustainably out of balance is, of course, the human species.

Drinks in Soho with an interesting bunch of comic book guys. Then getting sketchy in Madam JoJo's. Learnt that I can draw better with my left hand than my right. Go figure.

What is Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School?
Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art school is the world's premier alt.drawing movement. Artists draw glamorous underground performers in an atmosphere of boozy conviviality. Found in 2005 in a dive bar in Brooklyn, Dr. Sketchy's has now spread to over 100 cities around the world.
In San Francisco, we have a strong commitment to community. We believe that making art is about finding a great place to practice, with a community of like-minded folks. We celebrate our sometimes indescribable and important culture. We get excited about our models and we hope that our excitement inspires the artists who attend.
