sketching some birds - inspired by Alisa Burke's Beautiful Birds class & the Golden Field Guide Birds of North America
A sketch rather than a finished piece, sketched at church. A face drawing doesn't always have to be a front view. What do you think?

Another first for me. I thought I'd try to convert www.flickr.com/photos/friedguy/55069843/ to a sketch. This is what I came up with, I think it's okay.

The seventh workshop in our series sought to contrast two methods of subject commonly used in creating art. Whether your work from Reference photos, direct observation, or some hybrid has long been a heated debate. With this workshop, we wanted to explore the various benefits and drawbacks of both methods. Attendees were asked to create two sketches, the first was from a photo reference of a still life scene and the second was from direct observation. During the review at the end of the workshop, the jury remained split on which method they preferred; perhaps this debate will never be settled, but the creative individuals at Dreyfuss + Blackford Architecture will certainly continue to search.
This is the first scetch I have done since school so be gentle! What do you think? Comments please. She is done in artist crayon in grey shades. I would really like feedback from everyone but especially Gwen as she is so arty!

Music is central to my life. My artistic inclinations are not just visual but also aural. The number of headphones and earphones I have been through in my life is perhaps uncountable. Not only music, but my ears are plugged into audio-books and podcasts before I sleep on most nights. Here I have tried to show the wear and tear of my headphones that are so integral to my existence.
