My photos for this weekend (and indeed the year) have been wiped from my hard drive in a technological disaster. Heartbroken doesn't even start to cover how I feel.

Sketch, onstage with The Sketch Band at the Southern California Fair in Perris, California in October, 2006.
This was a big-tent concert, with something like 1,000 seats. The Sketch Band played right before and after REO Speedwagon, who played the main arena about 50 yards away. It was a fun night – especially when REO Speedwagon ended their set before some of their fans were ready to head home.

As I was practicing my photography while drinking my iced tea, this guy was sketching the rooflines of nearby buildings.
This month's sketch session started out different. We had a brief workshop with examples of different types of sketches, and some tips and tricks to use in our own sketching exercises. We then applied what was learned to a photo of the Ponte Vecchio we all sketched together.

Here are some character design sketches for my current short anthology comic strip. The main character is a mother, but I made her look too stern at first, then went for shorter hair and younger. I\'m still not quite decided on her final look though. She doesn\'t seem scruffy enough for a post-apocalyptic survivor, although the last sketch isn\'t too far off...
