Inspiration and opportunity to sketch hit me today doing errands after taking my son to camp today...It hit me watching a man pump air in his tires while I waited for my car to be filled with gas.
Bumped into an old photographer friend yesterday, "Len Grant" he said he was trying sketching as a new hobby and he wanted to sketch me for a project he was doing on the area where I live, I couldn't refuse could I.

Portrait of a Pinzgauer
Kind of had my own personal sketch crawl on Friday. I headed down to Buena Vista on my motorcycle, ahead of MB. I spent the larger part of the day in "downtown" BV, such as it is, doing some sketching.
I believe this is some sort of European troop carrier or utility vehicle. Very 4x4. I saw two of these in one weekend in the Buena Vista/Salida area. I suppose people buy these things and drive them around to make the Hummer folks feel inferior. I had a look inside, and it was very "agricultural". Notice that I again ran out of room on the page. Duh.
Got a human anatomy picture off Google pictures and sketched it. I didn't come up with this myself. Its was fun and well needed practice for shading. In the future i might add some letters around it.
I’ve been taking a break from the large piece to do some doodling. It always helps me recharge and it gives me a fresh outlook when I step back up to the painting. Plus, my sketches differ quite a bit from my usual painting style, so it’s refreshing to do something different. Some of these characters, I’d definitely like to redo and add some color to them. That’ll probably be a future sketchbook entry.
