Another sketchcard from August Macke is a thumbnail of his painting, done while in Tunis, of the town St Germain near Tunis. Macke went on a painting trip to Tunis with his painter friends, Klee and Moiller, and brought back some lovely works.

All being well, I go "walkies" next Saturday, 1st March for a while - I don't know for how long yet. I hope to not fall too far behind with photos and comments.

A bit of a story behind this series. Half way through the project the B7 people decided they wanted firmer control on the card set (in preparation for their relaunch of B7, presumably) and then rejected all but a few artists.

So while not pack-inserted my cards are being used as “incentives” and/or “redemptions”.

This was to be a commission of Dan Marino done on a blank card provided by Topps (not sure which set(s) provided these blanks). Sadly the card stock really (really, really) didn’t take pencils, pens or markers well.

Intensely dissatisfied and slightly embarrassed I repeated by intended image onto my own card stock and included it as a bonus.
