My final major project on my Foundation Course has led me to look at intimacy in three dimensional formats. Suffocation plays a big role in the project and it has enabled me to begin to create chairs that have been suffocated using tights.
New post at the LAB!!! - A Sketchbook Experiment! Haven't said that in a long while. Its back! jaglab.wordpress.com/2012/10/08/sketchbook-experiment/
These are three beattles that have been used in my project where I have came up with my own idea of an Alien.
I have done research to see how they actually look from up close, and how their bodies behave. Later on I have
taken original drawing, photo copied that two times, and started to experiment with them. In second drawing
you can see me going a bit wild with the design, giving the creature spikes, bones and some sort of tentacules.
In the last picture, I have used acrylics to check the colour palette that could work for the body texture. I found
that browns worked quite well. THe blue ment to suggest some sort of tatooes that could show creature belonging
to a culture.
Another page from my sketchbook. Some of these elements were early doodles before being used in my comic strip.

There were two students that were often seen posing for life drawing classes at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. One was Stephanie, and the other one was Sabrina. They both worked very well for amateurs, and were fun to draw. These somewhat stylized gestures are a product of this dynamic duo. If you were to ever leaf through my life drawing sketchbook, you'd be seeing a lot of these two.
