Like a roarin’ postcard from the fifties – that’s the sound of the HELLABAMA HONKY TONKS. Three voices, an overdriven sixstring, a big bad black doghouse bass and a pumping and swinging set of drums – that’ s what is called High Octane Hillbilly Rock’n Roll at its best, a patchwork of rough Rockabilly, fast Country and a little bit of Swing performed by Goldi Grasshopper, Crazyeye and Mr. Madsn. So put your cat clothes on, you rockin’ cats and enjoy the HELLABAMA HONKY TONKS!

Die HELLABAMA HONKY TONKS – High Octane Hillbilly Rock’n Roll at its best!
My Beautiful Well Gigged, Gibson J-45 Square Shoulder. This was my first 'real' Gibson, and I sold two other guitars, and cash too, to get it. Thank You Frank, at Frailers.

Practicing the Guitar. I wish I had time for this just like I wish that I had time to journal each and every day, but this too is something on the back burner. I’d love to make this a part of my daily routine, but I just can’t seem to squeeze more hours out of a day.
I will still pick up my guitars and diddle a bit here and there, and I fully intend on being out performing by next year…. Fingers crossed because I feel very driven here lately!

Long exposure shot of my Stratocaster. I painted the guitar with the light from my iPhones screen during an 82 second exposure. Shot with a Nikon D5000 and 35mm lens at F8.

I am the proud owner of 22 guitars. These are two of my Fender stratocasters. The one on the left is a 1979, modified, with a custom neck. A 22 fret philip kubiki Rosewood neck from california. It has Seymour Duncan pickups in the front and back positions, and I left the original Fender pickup in the middle position. She also has the old school Floyd Rose tremolo system. She has her original paint job from the factory as well.
The one on the right is untouched. Your typical "Eric Clapton" black strat. Untouched from the factory They both are a part of my life's extension.
A while ago, I was working away when my boss at the time asked my friend and I if we woul dmind driving over to his house and moving a load of furniture to his new house. Sure we said, even though we were being paid to fix computers. Why not?
So we got over to his old house, where his wife was busy throwing away a bunch of old stuff into the pile of goods to go to the Salvo's. This guiatr was amongst it all, and since we'd done such a good job, she let us keep anything from that pile. My mate picked up a bow and arrow set (he was pleased) and I grabbed this guitar. it was still in a dirty old case at the time, and i didn't even bother looking at it.
When I got home, i opened it up, and knew straight away this was no ordinary guitar - it was signed by the maker, was dated 1963, and was every bit a hand crafted beautifuly made spanish guitar. It had not been treated well over the years, as it had a large crack running down the wall, and through the top timber. i took it in to a repair guy (an afficiando on spanish guitars) who was very excited. He fixed it for me (took about 7 months of him procrastinating! - and about $600 of my cash) and it was set to go, good as new. I've been hunting around trying to find some information on the maker - and i think his name is Javier Rojo Solar - since this is a fiune guitar maker based in madrid and has been operating since the 50's. Well, next step is get in touch with him and send him these shots and see what he can tell me.
Maybe i'd better learn to speak spanish.

Some scenes along the trail on day one to Jhomolhari Base Camp trek, Bhutan.
There had been a festival on the day or so previously. Only way in and out is walking.
