A Leaf sinking in the sunset

I took this picture near StMary's Hospital in London... it was really weird to find out such a big sink!

Kitchen sinks aren't the most inspiring of places but when I saw these marks and water droplets in ours recently, it reminded me of a beautiful wild flower meadow swaying gently in a summer breeze.

When visiting Vancouver, friends and I went to this funky tapas bar after hours, and couldn't resist taking this photo in the bathroom...

Bathroom Series ~ 4 of 5

Water splashed in the bottom of my sink.

My favorite part of the new kitchen is the faucet. I don't think there has ever been a cooler faucet, really. Kohler Karbon was made for me. See, I have a major carbon fiber fetish... I'd drape myself in it if I could. Besides the fact that is looks cool, it functions unlike any faucet. With 5 joints that articulate and swivel with a hefty but smooth motion, you can place the nozzle where ever you want it ... and it stays there until you move it again. Pull it down into the sink to blast off food from dishes our pull it up and out of the sink to fill up pots/vases. It's a dream!

Brienz, Bernese Oberland, Switzerland

Who knows what today will bring... at work and afterwards. Last night around 11 pm I realized that I had done something wrong at work. I supposed that’s progress!

Not to mention that I rendered the stapler completely and totally unusable.... do you want to know how many pieces you can break a stapler down to? And all

I was trying to do was put in staples. Maybe I was not meant for a desk job? Oh... and the poor man that was only trying to book a rifle lesson and I had to call him

SEVERAL times to correct my mistakes ( I think I emailed him once too)... on my last call, he said “Torrie!!! I feel like I’m really getting to know you!!” Oh God....yeah, I’m an idiot.

I’m glad I wasn’t there when he came in for his lesson.

After work I am meeting a friend from New York that I haven’t seen for a long time... after several insistent text messages... including.... I’ll buy you dinner, I’ll drive to you...

and I’ll meet you in North Carolina if you want! North Carolina?!! Well, as wonderful as that sounds, it might make it a little bit difficult for me to get back for work tomorrow morning.

No answer to my question... “You’re OK.... right?!!” Hey!! Maybe there are lottery winnings to split?!! One can only hope....

Should be quite a day....

Sink or swim... sink AND swim...?

Let it go...

Another story from yesterday's shoot. Looks better on black.... so go ahead and press L.

"Have you ever heard the sound of disappointment?

It tangles your head like a winter rose.

Comes up eager and shining

And it likes to leave a scar before it goes.

Here comes that sinking feeling ."

“What happens when I go?

What happens when it snows? “

More about this on deviantART.

I shot this during my underwater class at After Dark with model Crystal - I have incredible fun teaching underwater photography and taking pics, its the perfect setup because I can teach and come out with a portfolio piece (which I rarely do with other classes). Simple and elegant is something that I haven't been doing much of lately, and admittedly will move further away from for certain pieces, but it feel so nice to throw in an underwater shot that is about bold color, form, movement.

Here is a blog post that I wrote about my trip to North Carolina: shadenproductions.com/blog/2012/05/23/adventures-through-...

The next trip that I'm taking in 2 weeks will be to Boston and Toronto! Been shooting tons lately, only sharing about 1/4 of what I've been shooting - just trying to grow and improve so that I can surprise myself.

Creve Coeur (Broken Heart) Lake in "Broken Lake Park"--a more apt name since an eight-lane freeway was built across the south end of the lake, to the left of this scene.

The kitchen at Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland. The medieval kitchens are now a museum room, and I suspect this particular kitchen is a Victorian addition. I was impressed by the number of sinks, and couldn't help thinking of the people who must have stood at them for hours!

If you look carefully you'll notice the man with a walking stick who was just about to step through the doorway and into my photo... :D

Sinking feeling Aberystwyth

Ostend port, Belgium. The hottest day of the year. Found this boat at the sides of the port. I think it has been a long time it has been used. Loved the textures on it and the environnement. This side of Ostend is changing a lot lately. They are building many high-class appartments. Soon it'll disappear, right on time to take some shots.

When you set out on a shoot you never seem to know what you will walk away with. This image is from the docks of OMSI, a museum in Portland. We went there to shoot the Portland Light Festival. I would go from exhibit to exhibit shooting brackets on a tripod. I did get some good images, but it was this image that I shot almost while walking that ended up being my favorite. The group I was with was strolling, I saw the sunset and stopped to take a few brackets. I only shot one set of images here then moved on. I was there for probably 2 minutes. It just goes to show that you should always shoot. Never go with one image in mind and shoot only that one location/image. Shoot the whole time, never stop. Many of my favorite images were the ones I thought would end up just being sloppy seconds.

I shot this and got the sinking feeling that I would not nail the image because there were throngs of people all over me when I shot this. You just never know.

Let me know what you think.

just experimenting with light painting! have a bathroom sink!

Must've been something tasty in the sink for Dewey to pop in there. He's giving the dog a dirty look, too.

Greta and Sufjan are sink kitties, I think they must have been bathed in them when kittens.

Loves to hang out in our sink. My fiancé and I received Norman about a month ago, he has only one eye (was a rescue cat and they had to remove due to an injury) and is a wonderful addition to our home. Sarah Q. Credit

Jackdaw 5** Avebury sink stone markers.

An apt title, as it applies to the sun sinking in the sky, and my feet sinking in wet sand :-)

Posted a longer exposure version of this a while back, this one's a more modest 3 seconds.

Big thanks for viewing.
