While out boating a few days ago we came across this rather sad scene. We can only surmise that the boat, a fairly large one by lake standards, ran into the old wooden piling post and was holed; those on board presumably had time to lash the boat to the post and secure those blue flotation drums so the boat didn't sink to the bottom.
Location is on Lake Cowichan at Youbou, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
The Turfmarkt, one of the central canals in Gouda. The name translates to the Peat Market as it is where peat was bought to be traded up until the 1500's.
The oldest part of the city center subsides at a rate of about 3 to 6 millimeters each year so all of this is gradually sinking.
We walked the length of it and admired the locals ability to park. You have to be good at parking here if you don't want your VW turning into a U-boat.
One of my favorite images from Bryce Canyon last winter with the Sinking Ship all surrounded by morning fog.
My photography mentor told us that this trip is 'a journey to the past' .... seeing this boat sinking, alone, in a small harbor, makes me couldn't agree more. brown cold water, trash here and there, old boats, almost no one on the street, truck parking ....
And as you could see the reflection of the sinking boat, you should be able to see reflection of yourself. I do hope that is not singking too ....

Taking photos of a kitchen sink is more fun then doing the dishes. ;-)
The photo was taken for the Weekly Alphabet Group and the letter "K"

My second build for the Iron Forge. I'm just warming up, don't let this build be like cold water to you. Last round was a close shave I thought, so I'm stapping up my game! Ready for a brush with me? There certainly isn't bathroom enough for the both of us!
Did you think the tap puns were over? :P
Hope you like it!
even such heavy and strong human creation it is sinking in history, becoming the past..

Taken at the workshop I taught in London with Miss Aniela this past Wednesday. As my workshoppers will note, I took this in a very different direction!
I am home now in Los Angeles, and I have to say it feels a bit strange. I have been living with Miss A for a month and for the first time I can just sit and relax without thinking about our next adventure that we have to rush off and complete! I'm going to have a nice, relaxing day of grocery shopping, eating, and maybe watching movies...though I did watch 4 on the plane yesterday. Couldn't sleep a wink on that 11 hr flight, but at least I am up to date on the latest flicks.

This is the sink we do what we call "wet sanding" in; basically, sanding sprayed paint off of metal that's been photosensitized, and then etched and filled.
I see this now everyday; quite a turn from working as a supermarket assistant manager. But....the work is fun, the people are great to work with, I get to operate a large camere every day, I get to work with my hands, and best of all: I get my weekends back! Finally, after four years.....
Update 8/4/21: I left this job a few months back and am now working for a company in Owasso, along with some of my former coworkers from this company.
Update 3/12/23: I understand that this company has recently done some interior remodeling, and that this sink may no longer be intact.
~Let me tell you about a girl that I used to be,
Same name same face but a different me,
She didn't know what she was thinking,
Didn't know her world was sinking.
Had her dreams written on a paper in her hand,
Held on tight but she didn't understand,
The love and heart that she's replacing,
All the past that she's erasing.
We all get lost sometimes and we forget who we are,
And we forget who we are.
Somewhere along the way,
We're all running in a crazy race,
Never thinking about the hearts we break,
And as our home starts fading away,
Things are never gonna be the same,
'Cause when you're standing there all alone,
Losing everything you've ever known,
You're staring at a different face,
Things are never gonna be the same.
I wish that I could share a different point of view,
But the words coming out, wouldn't speak the truth,
You wouldn't know what I was really thinking,
And I'd return to the girl, who's sinking,
Sinking down to the world that waits below,
And I don't want to be there anymore,
Don't wanna be there anymore.
And we all get lost sometimes, and we forget who we are and we forget who we are.
Somewhere along the way,
We're all running in a crazy race,
Never thinking about the hearts we break,
And as our home starts fading away,
Things are never gonna be the same,
'Cause when you're standing there all alone,
Losing everything you've ever known,
You're staring at a different face,
Things are never gonna be the same,
The more you win, the more you want,
It never ends, it never stops,
Oh it's never enough,
Oh, the more you win, the more you want,
It never ends, it never stops,
Oh it's never enough.
We're all running in a crazy race,
Never thinking about the hearts we break,
And as our home starts fading away,
Things are never gonna be the same,
'Cause when you're standing there all alone,,
Losing everything you've ever known,
You're staring at a different face,
Things are never gonna be the same,
Things are never gonna be the same,
Things are never gonna be the same,
When you're standing there all alone,
Losing everything you've ever known,
You're staring at a different face,
Things are never gonna be the same,
Things are never gonna be the same,
Never gonna be the same~

While redoing SO much at the cottage in New Orleans, I found a sink that I totally adored for the guest bathroom! As it turns out, I am a "sink" person! :)

It was tonking it down, so getting this 90 second exposure was a serious challenge whilst hanging over the wall trying not to drop anything into the water.
