VL358 approaches Casula with scrap metal train 2194 from Goulburn to Botany.

After the token for the single line section from Headbolt Lane has been surrendered to the onlooking Rainford Junction signalman 66099 'Glory to Ukraine' eases its heavy train, 6E26 1052 Knowsley Freight Terminal to Wilton EFW Terminal loaded binliner, away towards Wigan. The late June heatwave was taking effect here on this very hot and humid day.
A few weeks back I spotted some poppies in a small patch , I thought I would have a closer look on my way to work Yesterday . So after negotiating a barbed wire fence I found they were very few and a bit far from the edge of the field, My old 90 - 300 mm lens is a bit long in the tooth now and I don`t really think what I got with it very good, but i`m yet to try editing those shots, but I did find one or two close to me and in this case really happy with what I got , Hope you like it my shot of the day I think.

I have always thought that a series should come together over time, many visits, blood, sweat and tears but this small series came together over one snowy Sunday. I'd been dying to get out to photograph this area this winter since it's the first time in years that we'd got any significant snow, but I had a lunch planned on this day with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. I must admit that I was secretly thrilled when she cancelled saying she was nervous about driving on the snowy roads. As soon as I heard, I headed out (in my city car, without snow tires) and spent a wonderful day shooting. What a thrill to see a small series come out of one lucky day.

A simple scene... but I like it. A wintry and fog framed Stanton Mountain reflecting into the calm waters of Glacier Park's Lake McDonald. I really liked how the bright snow on the peaks stood out against the dark clouds.

There are so many leaves here (late Spring in NZ) that I had to second another leaf to hang on the branch so that it would stand out!

I shot this one a little earlier than my previous shot. This one was also shot with a tricked out white balance. It's not true white, but rather the golden effect I was going for.
'The Single Beech also know as the lone, or lonely beech, is the highest tree in the Cotswolds also at 317m. There is a fine 360 degree view from here and you can really appreciate the open aspects of this hilltop landscape. The Memorial Wall surrounds the tree, with plaques in memory of those who have been particularly fond of Cleeve Common.
Cleeve Common is the largest common in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is also the highest point on the Cotswolds at 330m. The Common is a conservation area and Site of Special Scientific Interest for its geology, habitats and botany and it contains a wealth of archaeological interest, including three Scheduled Monuments. It is looked after by Cleeve Common Trust.

Brought home a bouquet from Trader Joe's today! Having fun with artificial light!!
This is Middle Falls on Mt Airy Creek. I made this single from the trail about 100 feet above the creek below on river-right. This is probably the best vantage point for a view on the length of the waterfall, as it is practically a slide. There is no way to reach the base of this waterfall from this view, or for that matter, any section of the creek except for the upper and lower extremities. The ridgeline trail is a straight vertical drop to the bottom with no hand-holds. This photo accommodates and portrays the length of the waterfall but how extremely steep it is viewed from this point. I did find a possible entry point about 100 yads downstream off the trail possibly leading down to the creek side, but I wouldn't even think of it without a 100-foot rope. Even if I were able to make it to the creek below, I'm not sure how visible the waterfall would be given the geometry of it's upper height and rhododendron overgrowth. I'm still going to plan an excursion to make it down though.
UP QWCEW 18 splits one of the intermediate searchlight masts between Thermal and Mecca on UP's Yuma Subdivision. As UP's double tracking efforts have extended east all the way from the Salton Sea to Niland, this section remains single track with searchlights - for now.
