This Red-Winged Blackbird was singing in the reeds at Rithet's Bog. They poof out their wings when they sing - they really get into it.
Headed down to Piratz Tavern after my night at Pyramid Atlantic. Really kitschy, but fun. The food wasn't that good--what do you expect, they're pirates, arrr!

Lucky to get this in some ways, Thrush Nightingale is normally incredibly secretive in habits, rarely singing in the open, indeed rarely seen well at all. Spent nine hours today in this birds territory in a hide, eventually getting some rare photos and video. The first days of May often see this bird giving some views before the foliage grows, a late spring this year presented a unque opportunity to view this species...

Today we took Ruby down to Hellingly to walk in the fields Ruby really enjoyed it as she rolled in unmentionables at least 3 times but hey that's what dogs do. So the weather was good there was no mud and as always the peace and quiet was glorious as was the weather. So bird butterfly images and as always at this time of the year catkins.
