I've decided to start posting many images on Flickr since I don't have a gallery of my best images anywhere else. Most likely I'll post a few images a week at most, with information about the image in the description.

I've just gotten my new camera and lens, a Nikon Z6 with the tamron 150-600mm g2, upgraded from a Sony a6000 and 70-350mm f4.5-6.3, so needless to say, it's a massive upgrade.

There are two massive differences I've noticed upon upgrading: I've noticed is the much more pleasant bokeh from f/6.3 at 600mm as opposed to an effective f/11 at 600mm for the previous lens. Secondly, the colours coming out of the Nikon are much nicer, and more true to life to my eyes than the Sony, which produced quite muddy browns and turquoise greens. It's meant I spend a lot less time editing!

Very long intro for my first post, But now to the image. I chose to photograph wrens recently mainly due to the environment they choose to live in; woodland with dense undergrowth, often close to a stream. This also happens to be my favourite place to be in nature, and would definitely be where I would like to live if I were a bird too. Their breathtakingly loud song for their size is a bonus to listen to, and their cute little tails that they shake when they are perched is a funny sight.

After years of research, I have concluded that alcohol increases ones ability to understand foreign languages and sing much better.

From breakfast through to the end of the day.

Each cat has had his turn at making him stop

So far none have managed to reach the damned spot.

Please Jeffers, understand we've all reached the end

of our tethers and soon we will all choose to send

you back to you're breeder and now thats the end.

July 2006. A real crowd pleaser, until I stepped away and some kids played limbo until there was nothing left of it. Beautiful phot by Bill B.

Whilst walking near one of the local ponds in search of Common Gulls earlier this morning, I heard a Great Tit singing from a row of trees not far away. I immediately went over to where the song was coming from and eventually spotted it sitting in a small tree about 20ft away. I managed to film it for about half a minute before it decided to move onto another set of trees nearby, but the Great Tit had stopped singing after I had finished recording this clip. Even though it was singing for long, it was still great to hear one. I think this was the second one I had found singing this season. The reason why I say "I think" is because I did hear one singing yesterday not far from where I recorded this one today but that could've been the same one for all I know! :-)

another view of the sand castle i made yesterday at the singing beach. Not my most photogenic castle, but fun to make.

Perhaps the profile view works better - I couldn't decide which to upload, so I put up both.

mall entertainment is provided by these singing contests. a cool singing contract and a career through entertainment here and overseas is waiting for the winner!

This is a beggar singing for money. He just sings into the mike and the voice comes out of the speaker. I I think this is Typically Thai because I have seen a lot of beggars doing this. I took this photo near the Villa Market in Soi 11.

I spent part of this sunny day at King and John with some of my fellow Choir folks singing a song to protest again Putin and his anti-gay laws. Wonderful energy and music and great folks! Even the Bicycle Musical Festival folks rode by to ring for us and lend their support.

I messed up trying to get a video - I'll try again tonight at 8pm when we sing again. Come join us!

In the meantime, you can hear Daveed sing the song here and with passion!

Russians

Written by Sting and Sergie Prokofiev; Revised lyrics by Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman.

Around the world and in Canada

There's a fear of Russian homophobia.

We're voices standing up to all the threats

And discriminating laws of the President

Mister Putin says, "We will arrest you."

We don't subscribe to his point of view.

It's such an ignorant thing to do

Don't the Russians love their children too.

How can you hurt your girls and boys

With archaic laws and violent ploys?

We have no monopoly on common sense

But we can't sit silent to political threats.

We share the same biology, regardless of ideology.

Believe us when we say to you,

We hope the Russians love their children too.

There's plenty of historical precedent

To put the words in the mouths of the dissidents

There's no way in hell that you're winning this war,

With lies that we don't believe anymore.

Mister Putin thinks he can bury you,

Believe us when we say to you,

We know the Russians love their children too

We share the same biology, regardless of ideology.

And what might save us, me and you,

Is that the Russians love their children too

What might save us, me and you,

Is that the Russians loooooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvveeee!!"
