From breakfast through to the end of the day.
Each cat has had his turn at making him stop
So far none have managed to reach the damned spot.
Please Jeffers, understand we've all reached the end
of our tethers and soon we will all choose to send
you back to you're breeder and now thats the end.
July 2006. A real crowd pleaser, until I stepped away and some kids played limbo until there was nothing left of it. Beautiful phot by Bill B.
Whilst walking near one of the local ponds in search of Common Gulls earlier this morning, I heard a Great Tit singing from a row of trees not far away. I immediately went over to where the song was coming from and eventually spotted it sitting in a small tree about 20ft away. I managed to film it for about half a minute before it decided to move onto another set of trees nearby, but the Great Tit had stopped singing after I had finished recording this clip. Even though it was singing for long, it was still great to hear one. I think this was the second one I had found singing this season. The reason why I say "I think" is because I did hear one singing yesterday not far from where I recorded this one today but that could've been the same one for all I know! :-)
another view of the sand castle i made yesterday at the singing beach. Not my most photogenic castle, but fun to make.
Perhaps the profile view works better - I couldn't decide which to upload, so I put up both.

How Can I Keep From Singing
(Song by Enya- Hymn)
My life goes on in endless song
Above earth's lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
That hails a new creation.
Through all the tumult and the strife
I hear it's music ringing,
It sounds an echo in my soul.
How can I keep from singing?
While though the tempest loudly roars,
I hear the truth, it liveth.
And though the darkness 'round me close,
Songs in the night it giveth.
No storm can shake my inmost calm,
While to that rock I'm clinging.
Since love is lord of heaven and earth
How can I keep from singing?
When tyrants tremble in their fear
And hear their death knell ringing,
When friends rejoice both far and near
How can I keep from singing?
In prison cell and dungeon vile
Our thoughts to them are winging,
When friends by shame are undefiled
How can I keep from singing?
Revelation 15:2-4 (New Living Translation)
2 I saw before me what seemed to be a glass sea mixed with fire. And on it stood all the people who had been victorious over the beast and his statue and the number representing his name. They were all holding harps that God had given them. 3 And they were singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb:
“Great and marvelous are your works,
O Lord God, the Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
O King of the nations.
4 Who will not fear you, Lord,
and glorify your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come and worship before you,
for your righteous deeds have been revealed.”
This Saturday, I left the house early to go to class in Lynchburg,
so that I would have an opportunity to do my daily devotions,
take some photos and go to the flea market before class.
As I was going up the mountain towards the Peaks, about 645am,
I could see that it might be a beautiful sunrise, so I timed myself
so that I could stop at the Peaks to take some pictures.
What a beautiful sunrise!!! I took quite a few pictures
As I continued on, I stopped at the flea market, I found
a CD that was a tribute to Enya, the new age singer from Ireland.
I popped it into my player and the last song seemed like a hymn,
so I started it over to listened to it several times, it was so beautiful.
I looked up lyrics up when I got home, and yes, it was was an old
hymn. I found a picture of the sunrise and put the title on it.
and included the lyrics in the description. It is a very bittersweet
song, about the end days and the destruction of this world as
we know it, but because of the singers belief of our salvation
through Jesus, she able to sing because of the joy, knowing that
the worries and troubles of this world were going away and a new
world in Christ was coming.
As we go through life, and things become more difficult, health
fails, loved ones die, and we grow older and less able to do
what we used to do, God still reminds us of His promise
to us through Christ, and when we see His presence all around
us, how can we keep from singing praises to HIM, who has
set us from the prison of our sins and we are undefiled from
the shame of sins and declared clean and able to enjoy the
presence of God forever.
Amen
"This is the best thing that could've happened.
Any longer, and I wouldn't have made it.
It's not a war, no, it's not a rapture.
I'm just a person, but you can't take it."

Together with the ladies Paula and Fabienne we look like the singing sisters K3 from Belgium. Which song can we sing for you?
Our visit to the historic town of Tombstone, AZ. Very much a tourist attraction brouht to life by actors and historians who make a business of entertaining visitors.
I took this hand held with my 1-400 mm Canon tele zoom. This Canadian bird has a beautiful selection of songs. All of them are loud and distinct and his colouring is of the same boldness.

This girl and her father are from a caste that used to travel from town to town and entertain in weddings. As the tradition has been less common, they have been incresingly independent of entertaining tourits. The young girl was very shy, but had a beatiful voice and even more beautiful eyes. It was quite obvious that her father was very proud of her.
Thanks to ladyloneranger for inspiring me to upload this image :-)
I recently found another image of the same girl.
