" Heart still beating but it's not working
It's like a hundred thousand voices that just can't sing
I reached out trying to love but I feel nothing
Oh, my heart is numb
But with you
I feel again
Yeah, with you
I can feel again .. "

Eastern Meadowlark
From Audubon:
A familiar bird, known by the black "V" on its chest when it sings from a fencepost, or by the flash of white tail feathers when it flushes from the grass. The clear whistled song of the Eastern Meadowlark can be heard in spring not only in the East but also in desert grasslands of the Southwest. Some scientists believe that the southwestern form is actually a different species. Other races of the Eastern Meadowlark are widespread in Central America and northern South America.
Photographed, of course, at Joe Overstreet Road.
Nowadays, I'm too much busy, not just work.....Sometimes visiting your photo/s are lately but I had to....Thanks....

Wikipedia: Mueang Sing is a historical park in Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand. It protects the remains of two Khmer temples dating to the 13th and 14th centuries. It was declared a historical park in 1987.
The history of the site goes back to the period between 857 and 1157, a period when the Khmer Kingdom was flourishing. Records show that the town was abandoned until the reign of King Rama I. The name Mueang Sing first showed in the chronicles of the reign of King Rama I (1782-1809), when it was a fortified town protecting the town Kanchanaburi.
From Cornell:
The sweet, lazy whistles of Eastern Meadowlarks waft over summer grasslands and farms in eastern North America. The birds themselves sing from fenceposts and telephone lines or stalk through the grasses, probing the ground for insects with their long, sharp bills. On the ground, their brown-and-black dappled upperparts camouflage the birds among dirt clods and dry grasses. But up on perches, they reveal bright-yellow underparts and a striking black chevron across the chest.

Be as a bird perched on a frail branch that she feels bending beneath her, still she sings away all the same, knowing she has wings.

I couldn't resist another shot from our last Scotland trip, we were so lucky. I hope this weekends trip to the Lizard , cornwall will be as rewarding. Silver sings is by Caitlin Rose, and is perfect for one of the most sparkling walks.
This breeding male Chestnut-sided Warbler decides to sing a bit between turns of looking for insects. 2016 was my first year at Magee Marsh and I was able to make it back the next two years running, but I never got over the thrill of seeing these beautiful birds. I can't imagine what Magee will look like this year with COVID-19 but I bet there won't be tons of folks going.
Taken 15 May 2016 at Magee Marsh, Ohio.
Happy to be here again for short time, wishing you all a lovely September weekend!

A great day playing in the caves followed by a beautiful sky full of silver racing towards me. Silver Sings is by Caitlin Rose. I'm off volunteering today so should be fun.
This house wren was singing his heart out at my parents' house in rural Wisconsin a few weeks ago. I went out in the early morning and listened to all the bird songs. I brought up the Merlin app on my phone and held it up. The app identified about 15 species of birds (by their song) in a few short minutes. Many of them would have been lifers if I'd actually laid eyes on them. (Merlin is an app that can identify birds by their call or image. In this case, I just held up my phone with the app running and it records all the songs going on around you and identifies the species on the screen. It's a pretty cool app, especially for free)
... and let the background dancers swing!
The blossoms around the cornflower look like little bird beaks that want to be fed or sing happily. Is not it?
Little summer feeling, defies all the rain coming down here the last days :-)
Thanks for the visit, much appreciated!

This song sparrow was singing his heart out as song sparrows are wont to do. They winter here in the Phoenix area, but I'm guessing they'll vamoose soon.

Sing, sing a song
Sing out loud, sing out strong
Sing of good things not bad
Sing of happy not sad
Sing, sing a song
Make it simple to last your whole life long
Don't worry that it's not good enough
For anyone else to hear
Just sing, sing a song

Love is violent, love is pure
Love is the answer, love is the cure
But love can kill you
If you lose someone
Nothing lasts forever
Love's a loaded gun
(Sing) for all the people that you've lost
For all the friends you used to trust
(Sing) for all the dreams you left behind
The more you love
The more you will suffer from pain
You're afraid of losing it all
Love's a cruel, cruel game
And the devil will smile
When he takes your love away
(Sing) for all the people that you've lost
For all the friends you used to trust
(Sing) for all the dreams you left behind
All the dreams you left behind
Sing
