Day 10 of the 2012 Advanced Science Course 'Around the World and Around the Clock: The Science and Technology of the CTBT'. Participants engaged in an On-site inspection table-top-exercise.
Paramedic students learn how to manage cardiac arrests through simulation. This includes a manikin, cardiac monitor/defibrillator, a cardiac rhythm generator, mock drugs, airway management equipment, and IV supplies.
On February 23, 2019, the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy's International Policy Center and Weiser Diplomacy Center hosted graduate students from 14 universities to participate in the 2019 NASPAA-Batten Student Simulation Competition. This year’s competition—a partnership between the University of Virginia Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy and the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA)—connected a record 585 students from 11 global host sites to tackle policy issues associated with forced migration through computer-based simulated game play. Developed by experts at the Batten School’s Center for Leadership Simulation and Gaming (CLSG) who utilized extensive real-world data, the simulation placed students in leadership roles within a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment where they worked together to solve complex policy issues.

Epidural Anaesthesia simulation model. ESA prize 2016. The complex skills involved with administering epidurals, such as locating optimal insertion point and needle angle, can only be learned by practice. However it can be dangerous for novice anaesthetists to practice their first epidural procedure on real patients. This simulator provides a training scenario whereby novice anaesthetists can practice needle insertions and visualise bony structures.
I wish I had been smart enough to keep the original skeletor simulation in white when I made them 6 years ago.

These are reference images I'm using to test my new Velvia 100 RVP Film Simulation presets.
It's pretty well nailed down. With DMAX increases to Greens and Reds, and careful attention to how Velvia F used to make Reds orange and Yellows green, I made the adjustsments to reflect with known parameters of Velvia 100 RVP.
Like RVP, lighting conditions, exposures and subjects work differently with this simulation, but I used this reference set of 16 images to really stress test the preset.
In some cases, only two of the sliders need to be adjusted to suit the shooting conditions which are Exposure and White settings.
White balance needs to be adjusted manually. RVP tends to have a coolish tendency to it's images (which kind of makes sense because projector lights tended to be warmer.
White balancing with this preset requires you find your optimal results and then pull back towards cool just a little bit.

Baking up some 3d fluid simulation at work for some preproduction tests. We adopted blender 5 days ago in the office. It was great to go with opensource and never having to worry about keeping versions up to date, licenses and not having full access to the codes to write your own functions. Do give blender a go.
Here we have a rendered view which uses Zbuffer information for depth of field and glows to help make the droplets pop. Its great to be able to do it all in one app without having to deal with lost of scene information on exports.
