La centrale idroelettrica di Crevola: è un vero capolavoro dell’architettura industriale degli anni 20. Fu commissionata dall’imprenditore Ettore Conti direttore della Società per Imprese Elettriche Conti. L’edificio fu progettato dal famoso architetto milanese Piero Portaluppi nel 1923 e i lavori furono completati nel 1925. La centrale è in stile Decò, di cui Portaluppi fu uno dei principali esponenti. Il Decò recupera alcuni elementi dallo stile Liberty, fra cui la fusione di stili, ma abbandona la sovrabbondanza decorativa e favorisce il ricorso a elementi decorativi più semplici e geometrici. Un elemento caratteristico è la forma a pagoda della torre di raffreddamento. Nel 2017 le poste italiane hanno emesso un francobollo in commemorazione del cinquantenario della scomparsa di Portaluppi, che raffigura proprio la centrale di Crevola, a sottolineare l’importanza artistica dell’edificio.

The hydroelectric plant of Crevola is a true masterpiece of industrial architecture of the 1920s. It was commissioned by the entrepreneur Ettore Conti, director of the Società per Imprese Elettriche Conti. The building was designed by the famous Milanese architect Piero Portaluppi in 1923 and work was completed in 1925. The power station is in the Deco style, of which Portaluppi was one of the main exponents. The Deco style retrieves some elements from the Liberty style, including the fusion of styles, but abandons the decorative overabundance and favors the use of decorative elements more simple and geometric. A characteristic element is the pagoda shape of the cooling tower. In 2017, the Italian postal service issued a postage stamp commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of Portaluppi's death, depicting the Crevola power plant itself, underscoring the artistic importance of the building.

It is a multisensorial performance poetry act in 5 chapters which will involve audience participation. Sara Maino calls it 'A kind of restoration of the sensorial relationship of the people with the city.' In other words Sara talks about using our senses to reconnect with and simply love where we are.
About the artist:
Sara Maino is an international artist/researcher from Trentino,
Northern Italy. She has been writing since the age of 10 and her fascination with theater led her to co-found the company Teatro per Caso (Theater by Chance) in 1996. Sara has been researching people's memories and sounds of the landscape since 2005 which are also part of her current collaboration with Rai Radio 2 . Her work ranges from poetry, video, theater, site-specific installations and radio to projects of solidarity in India, Palestine, Balkans and Caucasus.

Simple frame construction with 1/8in thick down tubes inset and welded into the framing. This made for a super strong and square result. The steel framing was leftovers from another project. The steering section: I used hime joints at each wheel to allow for any misalignments. The main sterring arm is solid and was milled. Tires are just $10 wheelbarrow tires from harbor freight. The top was drilled out with the intention of using the holes for accessory attachments like scuba tank racks ... The finish on the cart is a spray on harsh environment epoxy in light grey.
The last local strawberries of the season are in the stores right now. They are not quite perfect but they are a real treat. Homemade desert cups, (too sweet to be shortcake,) real hand-whipped cream, shaved chocolate, and a fork. Simple is very good.
Some folks like to chase it with coffee. Some like tea. Some even like milk. We like it with a heavy Cabernet Sauvignon - sipped, of course.
