A later night than usual for me. Nard, Jo and I went out for sushi and Nard and I ended up hanging out until 9.
We don't get to see each other as much anymore, life tends to get in the way, so it's great to have the opportunity to catch up with a friend. Even if it leaves less time for responsibilities.
Anyway, just a simple shot for today.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

It's the sound of the rain coming down when you fall asleep
It's a call from a friend that you love, but never get to see
All the time you can waste tryna chase what you'll never need
Hope you back around to simple things......

Simple Roses contain a beauty that Nature gives us. We’re surrounded with Natures beauty when we pay attention.
"Doing shots"
I was lucky enough to be able to sneak away another day to meet up with Coleen at her happy place....one more day with that gorgeous doll Jenni...just one more day.
So grateful to have had that window of time, even though it wasn't nearly enough.
Missing the girls so much xo
Wall to wall torrential rain today...which we need...but editing a splash of colour was much needed.
So, if you ever want something
And you call, call
Then I'll come running
To fight, and I'll be at your door
When there's nothing worth running for
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to change it
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to stop it
You see, you're just like everyone
When the shit falls all you want to do is run, away
And hide all by yourself
When you're far from me, there's nothing else
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to change it
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point even talking
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to fight it
So, if you ever want something
And you call, call
Then I'll come running

With all the storm clouds we have been experiencing during the day for the past few weeks, it always amazes me that by the time it's sunset, most of the clouds disappear! We keep hoping for more spectacular clouds for the sunsets, but the simple ones can be beautiful too.
Another photo of High Point, Bradford, West Yorkshire. Built in 1972 for the Yorkshire Building Society. This brutalist building, which dominates the West Gate, Bradford skyline, stood empty for many years. It has now been redeveloped into apartments, as you can see from a plant in one of the windows.
Original architects: John Brunton Partnership.
A detail shot of the new V & A East Museum building in Stratford, East London.
I think that these three shots would work well as a triptych.
Architects: O'Donnell and Tuomey

The St Botolph Building, Aldgate, in the City of London. Completed 2010. Architects: Grimshaw Architects
"Throughout the ages, it has been the simple buildings that solve a problem that become the representative buildings of their time."
- William "Bill" Robb
This is the Fort Collins Savings and Loan Building, built in 1970. It is an example of one of Bill Robb’s “simple buildings” in Fort Collins, Colorado. I chose it for the We’re Here! theme today – Black and White Architecture.
It is also fitting topic 5/123, "Angles” for 123 pictures in 2023
I found an article about Bill Robb and learned he was the only architect in town when he set up shop in 1953, and it stayed that way for some years. Fort Collins was an agricultural town and quite conservative. The area never broadly embraced Googie, New Formalist, or Brutalist design, but its offices, residences, and churches reflect some profound local examples of Modern architecture. The key, defining examples of the movement for Fort Collins, largely Contemporary or Usonian in inspiration, in many cases, sprang from the desk of William Robb.

After sifting through and editing 600-odd images from Saturday night I'm all photo-ed out today!
For some reason Toby finds the name of this plant hilarious ;)
Detail shot of Pavilion House, Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
This handsome 1970s building replaced the much loved Pavilion Hotel, demolished in 1973.
I get the impression that Pavilion House has never been popular. It has been voted by the people of Scarborough as the town's ugliest building.
Plans have been put forward to remove the concrete facade and replace it with full height windows.
I understand that the building was designed by Robert Matthew, Johnson Marshall.
