There were many, many people.

She read from her collection of short stories, No One Belongs Here More Than You (which has a great website - she said she had to make it simple since she paid for it herself. It was he r first experience with viral. She sent and email to five friends. By the end of the day 5,000 people had seen it, and soon 500,000) .

She said when the tour is over, she'll finish the script for her next film which is based on her performance, Things We Don't Understand and Definitely Are Not Going To Talk About.

There also will be a book out on the fall featuring the best of the online project she co-curates

I found an interesting game today. It’s called Senso (or Simon in England). You have to press the buttons in the correct order. It’s good for your memory, but it’s very very difficult. I so wanted to finish it but it was so fast towards the end that every time I pressed a wrong button :-(

Stupid Game…

Made a stencil with my SSS snowflake dies to create this background, dabbed with Distress Oxide and embossed with a glittery powder. Just added die cut snowflakes and gems. Adding this to the current Flickr Challenge. Blogged here

INJURY UPDATE - 3/21/09

I finally saw the orthopedist late yesterday (Friday) afternoon. He said the broken bone in the ankle is healing well. The continued associated swelling, tendon inflamation and bruising will work themselves through. Knee-wise, he was a bit concerned over the remaining swelling and lack of full range-of-motion (ROM). Thus far, I've only been able to get the knee to bend just shy of 90 degrees. Coincidentally, that is also the same (reversed) angle the curlew (pictured above) is mockingly showing me.

Look at that feathery smirk.

He knew...he knew.

But, I digress.

The doctor also offered comforting phrases like, "if you don't get your (ROM) back now, you'll never get it back." (The curlew would have been pleased. But, I digress again). The doctor did confirm, however, I could still have surgery for it, regardless of its current condition. So, we started the ball rolling and will schedule surgery for possibly the first or second week of April. He's also having a Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machine delivered to my house next week to assist in that "ROM" thing.

Now, all I have to do is figure out how to mount my camera to it, and I'll be set.

For those interested, an example of the basic surgical procedure can be seen HERE (thanks indee for the link). I recommend having a bowl of popcorn and nice beverage available to make the viewing more enjoyable.

INJURY UPDATE - 3/25/09

The earliest I can get in for ACL surgery is May 5th (which is three months after the initial injury). I think I just heard the curlew cackle.

INJURY UPDATE - 5/6/09

Surgery complete! Further details here

Just resharing some fun for Friday! Have a great weekend everyone!
