Spectacle "place Saint-Henri" lors des rendez-vous chez Stan à Contrexéville.
Enfant du Plateau Mont-Royal à Montréal, Simon Goldin grandit dans un milieu où l'on cultive les arts. Sa mère est issue d'une ville minière du nord québécois et son père est parisien. Tout deux font tourner sur le tourne-disque les artistes tels que Gilles Vigneault, Georges d'or, Léo Ferré, Félix Leclerc, Renaud, Jean Ferrat et bien d'autres. Simon Goldin d'abord attiré par le théâtre mais aussi attité par l'écriture en vers décide dès l'âge de 16 ans de se consacrer à la chanson. Il apprend la guitare chez un professeur particulier et lit les grands classiques de la littérature pour s'inspirer. Il se plonge aussi dans la vie de nuit Montréalaise qui lui apporte une grande galerie de personnage à dépeindre dans ses chansons. Il transporte ensuite ses chansons dans les cabarets de Montréal et devient lui même co-hôte d'un cabaret à chanson, Les Rendez-Vous de la Chanson Vivante.
Au cours d'un concert donné à Tadoussac lors d'un festival il rencontre Nathalie Miravette qui l'encourage à développer son sens déjà présent du spectacle en travaillant avec un metteur en scène. Lors de son emménagement à Nancy en Lorraine il rencontre Simon Bonne qui devient son metteur en scène. Ils créent ensemble le spectacle Place Saint-Henri que Simon Goldin porte de salle en salle depuis 2009.

Simon.......the "already neutered & microchipped" cat I trapped the other day went back to the men who were caring for him. Simon's original owner had moved to a retirement home and didn't want Simon...leaving him behind. She gave her consent for the men to take ownership of Simon.
Here he is talking to me after I released him yesterday. The men were so happy to have him back. They called me and the vet constantly while Simon was being "held" at the clinic.
Update: 12/2011
My vet told me that Simon became gravely ill this month and had to be euthanized. I was shocked and sad to hear this. RIP dear Simon.

Simón José Antonio de la Santísima Trinidad Bolívar y Palacios nació en Caracas el 24 de julio 1783. Sus padres fueron el hacendado Juan Vicente Bolívar y la dama María Concepción Palacios. Disfrutó de una infancia privilegiada, pero cuando tenía nueve años de edad quedó huérfano de padre y madre, víctimas de la tuberculosis. En su niñez fue alumno de los ilustres Simón Rodríguez y Andrés Bello. En 1799, viajó a España para completar su educación.
Poco después se casó con María Teresa del Toro, quien falleció en la luna de miel en Venezuela. Entonces, Simón Bolívar regresó a Europa. En Austria se reencontró con Simón Rodríguez y juntos visitaron Roma. Estando en el Monte Sacro (15-8-1805) expresó su anhelo de luchar por la libertad de su patria. Llegando a Venezuela se unió a los conspiradores patriotas, que en 1810 derrocaron al Capitán General Vicente de Emparan. Desde entonces se hizo protagonista de los principales sucesos y batallas por la Independencia de Nueva Granada, a la que bautizó como República de Gran Colombia.
En 1823, llegó a Lima para luchar por la Independencia del Perú. Al mando del Ejército Unido Libertador, logró las brillantes victorias de Junín y Ayacucho (1824). Permaneció en Lima hasta 1826 organizando la Federación de los Andes, proyecto que uniría a la Gran Colombia, Perú y Bolivia. Retornando a Bogotá no pudo superar los planes nacionalistas de Caracas y Quito. Lima y La Paz también se le sublevaron.
Decepcionado, acorralado por sus enemigos y enfermo de tuberculosis, Simón Bolívar renunció al poder en abril de 1830, y se retiró a Santa Marta. Aquí se agravó su tisis pulmonar y falleció el 17 de diciembre de 1830.

“Seen from a distance, the apparently suspended form of the ‘Geometrics’ light sculpture certainly delivers a ‘wow’ factor, but for those gazing up from beneath, the experience is transformational; the sky appears as a pattern formed by colour and line and enlivened by the darting forms of odd flying shapes.”
He had a rough day yesterday having spent most of the morning under the bed because of thunderstorms.
Portrait for Elec Simon. We had to change the entire set up at the last minute as the original plan had a lot of the lighting outside the window. The thunderstorms had a different idea, however, and 10 minutes before we were about to start clicking we had to move all the equipment inside and re-stage the shot.
