Diagnosed with Parkinson´s disease 2012

I try not to think too much about the fact that I have a progressive disease. I have worked as a nurse for 20 years and have seen how the disease has affected many and how some have mastered to live with it. So I know that it is different from person to person. For me it is also different from day to day and from morning to night. I may run to reach the subway on the way to work. Returning in the afternoon I struggle to walk.

Simon's nose is like a bloodhounds!

He's always aware of the smells coming out of the kitchen. The other cats aren't really that interested in "people food", but Simon loves to sample anything.....especially fish.

We had shrimp for dinner the other night, and we gave him one. He grabbed it and ran off into a corner, and when Floydd came to investigate Simon growled and hissed at him.......NOBODY was taking it from him!

Simon is one of only two boys invited to a Princess party on Friday for the girl who was his second girlfriend (in junior kindergarten!) He's been asked to dress as Prince Charming. The closest we could come was a tiara and a Darth Vader cape (don't ask me why in a house with three boys we had a tiara) so he decided to make a crown instead. Then he decided to make and decorate a crown for the birthday girl as well. So sweet! Five is a lovely age.

Simon is Gateway Theatre’s Artistic and Executive Director.

He has directed over 150 professional productions in

numerous theatres in Canada including the National Arts

Centre and the Banff Festival. His plays have appeared on

CBC radio drama and on CBC Television, as well as on the

stages of regional theatres across the country.
