Simba is a stray kitty that has taken up residence in my back yard. He's wonderfully sweet and super handsome... he must have belonged to someone at some point - he's too friendly to be born feral.
I feed him, pet him, hug on him ... whenever I can. I wish I could do more -- like bring him inside as my neighborhood is filled with feline AIDS and feline leukemia - but I already have 5 personal cats - including one who is very ill.
Maybe some day, my friend Kathy will have room in her foster program for Simba -- and I can take him to the vet -- get him tested -- and she can find him a home. For now, I'm falling in love and doing what I can.
Lit using a patch of sunshine just below him reflecting off the wall. I'm not sure about the crop - I tried a square one too, but that felt a little uninteresting (the original shot was wider but looking at it I felt a crop that focused on his eyes and the light catching him under his chin would work best).

At rest, but also alert to the sounds of the neighbourhood. This shot was taken just before this one - I think he'd had enough of me clicking the camera at him!
HAPPY FURRY FRIDAY!!
It was so fun visiting with my dear friend, Valerie, on FURRY FRIDAY...so MUCH fun, for we went to her house after lunch to see her beautiful cat, SIMBA! and that means...FLICKR PHOTO OP...for SIMBA is an incrediblly beautiful cat.
Valerie volunteers at the SPCA, animal shelter in San Francisco. Several years ago, she saw this dear cat who it seemed no one would adopt for he was older and somehow acquired a bad rep from a previous owner (who should of received the bad rep!) .
Valerie bonded with SIMBA for he was such a love-kitty . After a LONG time, Valerie took SIMBA home and they have had an incredible lovely bond over the years. SIMBA is affectionate, sweet, very loving, and just an all around beautiful cat. Which goes to show, there are times when a cat may have been given an improper negative classification that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the cat!
May everyone find a loving cat such as SIMBA!
This Is My Boy Simba. He's Currently Suffering A Broken Leg After Being Run Over. He Went Missing For Five Days Before Christmas. Luckily He Was Found On Christmas Eve Hiding In A Bush. He's Now Safely At Home Being Looked After X

Simba, el gato de Shamadalie.
Tengo miedo a los gatos desde que soy pequeña... pero Simba fue genial conmigo y me dejó hacerle fotos, es precioso <3
Created this Lion King theme cake with Simba sitting on the top. This was the little girl's dream cake.
At the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre in Lilongwe, Malawi, they have two lions that have been rescued and that are being rehabilitated, readying for release back into the wild.
This is Simba. He was confiscated from an animal trainer in France, who was abusing him quite badly. Now, he relaxes in the sanctuary and is being nursed to health and to the standard needed for his release back into the wild.
