Really Nice Viewed On Black

The vintage candy dish belonged to my great-aunt, the silver-plated tray was found at a charity thrift store and the glass swizzle sticks are just a small collection of eye candy. ;-)

That is Manhattan Chic Barbie modeling the vanity on her lap. She is wearing Army Barbie’s pants and top.

Designed for 1:6 scale fashion dolls such as Barbie, Blythe, Momoko, BJDs, Misaki, Susie, and Fashion Royalty, just to name a few.

This is handmade, one-of-a-kind, and will never be made again.

The design and finished piece are my original ideas, execution, and creation.

Antique silver plated creamer, milk glass plate and new photo napkin rings.....

The photos are of my great son and his sweet girlfriend.

I've been going through a lot of inner big-life changes in the past few years. I take restock often of what I own, what I'm doing, where I'm going, and have been paring down along with opening up to what I love.

These yellow beads are what I grab when I feel overwhelmed, harried, or rushed: I breath in and out, deeply, on each bead. It totally chills me out. When I'm concentrating on breathing, and on the cool smooth beadiness, I can't focus on what is freaking me out. I can't multitask or troubleshoot. I often notice I haven't taken a deep breath all day.

Even seeing the beads can calm me. I've been trying to move more slowly through my life and these little guys help me absorb what really matters ~ that I am here, now, and to experience my experiences.

“Give us this day our daily bread.”

What does this mean?

God gives daily bread, even without our prayer, to all wicked men; but we pray in this petition that He would lead us to know it, and to receive our daily bread with thanksgiving.

What is meant by daily bread?

Everything that belongs to the support and wants of the body, such as meat, drink, clothing, shoes, house, homestead, field, cattle, money, goods, a pious spouse, pious children, pious servants, pious and faithful magistrates, good government, good weather, peace, health, discipline, honor, good friends, faithful neighbors, and the like.

Lutheran Small Catechism: 4th petition, Lords Prayer

Let us never forget this as the year ends, the new year begins, and life brings us challenges we feel we cannot bear.

A delightful spiced fruit bread ready to eat straight from the oven or can be tightly wrapped and kept in an airtight container for up to 4 weeks. Goes well with aged Stilton cheese – a strong rich cheese, often with blue veins, originally made at various places in Leicestershire, England.

Ideal during the month of December but also excellent in other special occasion.

A surviving trace of last November activities – in preparation for incoming Holidays – I tried myself hard enough to draw up this Middle Eastern dish.

Generously stuffed with nuts, ground meat, rice and complemented with spices to tantalize the senses; after hours of paying attention to every detail, the outcome was pretty much delectable to hungry souls. Want some!

Besides photographing flowers, I love to create arrangements for special occasions. This year I wanted to work with a limited palette plus green. A view of the entire centerpiece from the other side is below. I'm so happy that the roses still look great today (Sunday)! Made Explore Dec. 30, 2008, highest: #338.

Wishing all all my flickr friends and viewers the very best for the New Year! Thank you for all your support, encouragement and comments.

May New Year's Eve be a festive one, and may 2012 be a happy and prosperous year.

I cannot over emphasize SMALL. This is a hand-made Nativity on a silver tray that goes with our wedding gift of a silver-plated sugar and creamer.

Getting ready to greet the guests.

The silver tray they are sitting on is about 200 years old and was one of my earliest Tookany Creek finds, sticking straight up out of the sand on the bank one day.

*"rose cottage" and "rainbow's end" are slang terms used in other countries referring to a morgue.

In the above illustration I am showing the coroner in shirt sleeves and suspenders with his back to the camera "working deep inside the cavity of "Jane Dow"* laid out on a "silver tray"**

"Jane Dow" another morgue term used to describe a white female unnamed victim, "silver tray" is a gurney. One of the more vulgar terms used by the attendants and my favorite is "grinding coffee" and it is particular poem that came to mind while working on this set.:

P.S. on a note of interest, the rest of the set has been pulled for it's unsuitable content for all viewers with the exception of the one bellow.

Well I finely got this tray done. It got set aside for a little time.

I used all my handmade tiles in this one. and trim the edge with glass tiles that I got at the Tile Shack

The Fox and the Grapes. An elegant old hand blown glass fox on a silver tray with a grape and vine pattern, all underneath a glass dome. A nod to Aesop's fable.

self portrait in a tray of cakes - a good place for it.

Martin and I ordered two espressos after our lunch and got it served on a silver tray with two glasses of sparkling (not simple tap) water.

Mit Stil servieren

Martin und ich haben nach unserem Mittagessen noch zwei Espressos bestellt, die uns auf einem Silbertablett mit zwei Gläsern Mineral- (nicht einfach nur Leitungs-)Wasser serviert wurden.
