We have just got back from the vets with Jarvis, he has been in for a dental extraction. We were expecting for him to have had all of his teeth removed today, but they have removed "only" 12 teeth! He still has 2 molars and all his canine & incisors left in place. All his teeth were healthy and strong! His problem is due to a condition called stomatitis, it is an auto immune problem which results in the bodies immune system attacking the bacteria that grow on teeth, resulting in sore & ulcerated gums. This can spread to the palate & throat causing pain & cats can starve to death from it. There is no cure and in many cases removal of the teeth will prevent the symptoms. Some cats have a total clearance and some it is sufficient to just clear from the canines backwards. We will have to see how he goes with the partial clearance, time will tell if more need removing. He has been on anti inflammatory medicine since he was about 7 months old,but it is not good for the long term as it can affect liver & kidney function as a side affect.

He came home, ran around the lounge a few times, then went in the kitchen for his tea! Alternating mouthfuls of cat food & biscuits!

Lola's favourite perch is atop the armoire. It's the highest spot in the apartment, and from there she thinks of new ways to be absoposilutively suh-weet!

My daughter Kathryn has always been crazy about our big boy, Silver Storm, or Big, as she often refers to him.

Just a quick update!!! This shot was chosen from nearly 900 entries for my work employee calendar!!! That in turn sparked 3 newspaper articles!!! One article even had a color shot of this pic in it!!! Calvin is much more "famous" than his brother, Mr. Munchkin.;. LOL

Just came across this old photo by accident so thought I'd show him off!

For some of you that remember Chubby - the silver tabby American Shorthair from Hong Kong - this is the kitten I am keeping out of the litter of six she had on Feb 12.

Sadly, Chubby will be going back to Hong Kong in another month. I will miss her - she's been such a sweet cat and a good mom to her kittens. But at least I will have a part of her in Tofu. :)
