Well, here is my own version of the Alien poster on its 40th anniversary.

WMPTE DMS Fleetline number 5533, parked on the fuel pumps inside Yardley Wood Garage on Friday 27th December 1985. The bus was one of several former London Transport DMS types that operated from Yardley Wood Garage from the late 70's into the mid 80s.
Taken just a few days after Christmas, the garage would have been very quiet, unlike events that were unfolding on the very same day elsewhere in the World, when Abu Nidal terrorists open fire in airports at Rome and Vienna, leaving 18 dead and 120 injured. The then US President, Ronald Reagan blamed Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi. And in Rwanda American naturalist Dian Fossey is found murdered at her cabin in Karisoke. Dr. Dian Fossey, one of the world’s leading female scientists, had devoted her life to protecting and studying the mountain gorillas of Africa. She is probably best remembered for her book “Gorillas in the Mist.”, which was made into a film in 1988 starring Sigourney Weaver as Dian Fossey.
She never actually got to use the flamethrower on it in the movie, did she?

i look like a total goober b/c i'm meeting my idol. i started to shake and cry after the pic. she was wearing sunglasses and *took*them*off* just for the photo. how nice!!! i actually have a list of 3 celebrities i'd love to meet. sigourney is #1 and tied below her and matthew modine (who i already met) and jeff bridges. i'm good w just 2/3, esp b/c she's one of them.
My plan was to get a photo of Sigourney Weaver at the London Film and Comic Con in June. But she had her own signing room and a No Photography rule... this was the best I could do.
Aliens kidnapped her sister, so now it is upon Dayja Mayo to get her back.
These aliens have messed with the wrong kid.
What happens next will NOT be for the weak of heart or the easily upset.

no one puts ridley in a corner. unless its an evil being whose mother exploded out of an "engineer's" body. Yeah I saw prometheus and was thoroughly disappointed at how many holes it left, let alone comprehend how useless charlize theron's character was and why they even bothered hiring a consistently underwhelming writer Damien Lindelof. Oh Ridley! Never hire a TV writer with a lame resume (LOST) to write a pre-quel to your opus!

I particularly LOVE this scene, the chaos..the lights everywhere, this and the 20s gangster set are one of the most detailed and most photographic areas of the entire ride. The Alien set has been a very challenging area to shoot since the 'ride's movement never stops and its relatively dark in the area. Its also a challenge to focus with all the alarm lights flashing and messin up my matrix.
Shot this with the fantastic Sigma 30mm f/1.4 wdwben was so kind to let me borrow.

She was in the play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Before my NYC trip, I had asked an acquaintance there (who understands fangirling :) ) if anyone cool was on Broadway at the mo, and she mentioned this. So I saw it mainly because of Weaver and David Hyde Pierce. :D
The play was quite funny and I realized one should always take in at least one Broadway show when in Rome I mean NYC because presumably Broadway is at the bottom of a gargantuan global talent-funnel!
But if someone insanely famous is in said show and it seems like your only chance to see them IRL!!!!!!!! ever, that is of course a bonus. :)
I saw the matiné and waited by the stage door afterwards, and then again after the evening show... I told Weaver I love "Snow cake", and she said that meant a lot to her. IIRC. :D
PS. I also recommend "Gorillas in the mist: The story of Dian Fossey". *bawl*

Sculpt update on "Sleeping Ripley" - Narcissus - ALIEN 79 1:18 scale.
How about it! A sculpt of Ripley all covered up! LOL! Got a lot of grief after my last update if you can believe it. Must be doing something right then. LOL! This is a separate sculpt by the way...another update of "topless" Ripley is coming soon.
Seriously now, this sculpt is of Ripley featuring the bedgown she wore at the end of the film where she tucks herself in for the unexpectedly extended sleep.
Made some changes to the hair, sculpted the gown and sculpted the hands in the correct position which will help me build up the arms accurately to complete the piece.
Next up is finishing a sleeping Jonesy (cat) and fitting her into the Narcissus sleep chamber.

I've always loved James Cameron's movies and want to see Avatar really bad.
I consider it a must see and I want to view it in 3D in a large IMAX theatre just like Mr. Cameron meant it to be viewed. So I stopped by today and took this quick photo of the movie poster and checked pricing and times.
Trying to get all my family together at one time now that takes some coordination but looks like we are set for this weekend.
Has anyone seen Avatar and what did you think? If you haven't seen it do you want to see it? I heard that it has a lot of the Dances with Wolves and Pocahontas story line in it.
