a typical scene from where live.....wooded valleys, old stone walls and green fields. This is taken on an old path near Birstwith.

It was ok, but too hazy for a decent photo once I got there...

2/18 10:15:40 「太平洋自転車道」というのがどこにあるか分からず、結局サツタ峠を越えることにした。土曜日だからか、ハイキングの人も多い。登り口の墓地に子供が3人遊んでいて、いってらっしゃいませ、と声をかけている。中の一人、小4の女の子(あとで歳をききあった)「自転車はやめた方がいいですよー」

「ほかに道はありますか?」

「ない…」

別のおじさん「ないね。100mもひっぱりゃぁ[いけるでしょ]」

と、見送られつつ、自転車をかついで登った。かつぐというより、前輪を地面につける形で後輪を支え、引きながら押しながら登る。
