These fingerposts are probably unique to Rutland. The post is precast concrete and most have 'RCC' cast into all four sides. Two slots are cast in for the fitting of single or through double wooden arms secured with bolts. The letters are screwed on. This one is in Manton on what was once the A6003. NGR; SK 87880 04495
This five fingered signpost stands on a path just up the hill from Arlington Row in the lovely village of Bibury in the Cotswolds.
I took the photo 15 years or so ago ... so it's always possible it has been changed. Many people find this photograph amusing because signposts are there to help ... to point you in the right direction. lways

I've flung this in because I liked the clouds. It was actually a really nice day if you faced the opposite direction - another changeable Ayrshire day!

I've been wanting to do a picture of the Space Signpost moving about at night, but it was broken for ages. This isn't brilliant, but hey, how often am I going to walk past in the dark when there's an obligingly oblivious guy playing with the thing... I may need a willing accomplice to do this one properly.

Shrewsbury is the county town of Shropshire, in western England. It sits inside a loop of the River Severn, and its Tudor Centre is lined with half timbered houses. The medieval red bricked Shrewsbury Castle houses the Shropshire Regimental Museum, where military artefacts includes uniforms and weaponry. St. Chad's Church is defined by it's unIlque circular nave and St Mary's Chuch has eleborate stained glass windows.
