There's nothing I hate more than sights like this in the British countryside. Judging by the types of rubbish included it looked like this pile had been here since Christmas 2009

The Castle of the Counts.

The original castle was built around 868 by Count Baldwin I, rebuilt and expanded by the Count of Flanders around 1180. The Gravensteen was the seat of the Council of Flanders.
