I am not normally scared of grasshoppers, but these guys were CREEPY. I kept waiting for them to lunge at me while I was trying to get a picture.
Later, in that there window, Will found a dead black widow between the window and the screen. It had a perfect red hourglass on its underside. Glad we haven't had the window open lately!
This little patch of flowers and peppers is also home to the biggest and creepiest looking grasshopper ever. Grasshoppers are not my friends.

This fat wee toady lives somewhere behind our hose reel. He travels all the way across the patio every night about midnight. I suspect he has a girlfriend somewhere in the sideyard because we've had quite a few mini toads hopping about.
