The last light of sunset filtering across the picturesque village of Hamnoy, Moskenes, Lofoten, Norway.
These mud cracks in Death Valley were extremely addicting and a blast to shoot. During this morning session with Mike Ryan, we wandered around like zombies, shooting all kinds of mud crack on this piece of land that was like a giant puzzle. The light constantly changing was challenging but very rewarding too. Hope you enjoy this one.

For quite a few years this armature did it's job in the vacuum control module of my 2001 Audi A4. Eventually the pump parts failed and I could no longer lock any of the doors. I replaced the module and put the old one in a drawer for future dissection, that was around 2008. A contact has been posting his collection of small armatures so I thought I'd see what I could come up with myself. This one was shot with a single light source placed to the right of the camera for the Macro Mondays theme, "Sidelit". The armature measures app. 1 in. X 0.75 in., the copper shaft diameter is 0.25 in.

I didn't half feel odd taking a macro shot of a car in the road, but here it is for better or for worse. It's a macro shot of the headlight or sidelight - can't remember which.
Thank you for your favourites. :O)

TRUE COLORS / Cyndi Lauper 1986 / covered by Phil Collins 1998

You with the sad eyes
Don't be discouraged
Oh I realize
Its hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And the darkness inside you
Can make you feel so small
But I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow
Show me a smile then
Don't be unhappy, can't remember
When I last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy
And you've taken all you can bear
You call me up
Because you know I'll be there
And I'll see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow
If this world makes you crazy
And you've taken all you can bear
You call me up
Because you know I'll be there
And I'll see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors
True colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors

Some great light approaching sunset today.
This image was taken in the early morning light at the Längsee. I loved to see the lonesome person in the boat every morning.

Some wonderful breaking light on the slopes by the Wool Packs, Kinder Scout.
Taken last Sunday evening. I still have a one or two shots to share from before my dash over to Kind Low to catch up with the direct light.
This was more of a grab shot. I didn't think the composition worked and there was a bit stop difference to hold back the sky.
But I processed it and quite liked it.
I headed up in low cloud and was thankful to get five or ten minutes of light.
The last piece of Christmas decoration I have to remove is the door wreath. I'll drop the dried leaves, pinecones and berries but I always leave the ring made of the branches because it is the hardest for me to make always a new.

Some spectacularly strong light this morning. The strong winds still aren't much fun.

― Vera Nazarian, The Perpetual Calendar of Inspiration
The rookery has been slow the past week or so but it seems there's always some gold to find in them there hills. This Great Blue Heron was still busy providing nesting materials for his mate, coming in at a challenging angle. I was set up to get a sillouette of them against the bright rising sun and swung around in time to get this image. No time to change settings.
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

This song just goes so well with this time. The global pandemic also makes us sit up and listen. Tell us a story, your story. About your experiences, injuries, wishes, dreams. And as you get through, survive. Melancholy and hope at the same time. From songs that we love, we often take the strength to go on, let us drift, let ourselves be reminded, let ourselves consciously change our mood and, last but not least, simply forget, whirl around, swing, spin with our favourite music during a lively dance. Looking for what the day may bring.

Look at the way she walks
The little black bird with no wings
She hops around the city
Looking for what the day may bring
She never took to pity
The little black bird with no wings
She fills me up with hope
The little blackbird with no wings
Someone crushed her wings in haste
When I see her heart stings
A survivor and she's full of grace
The little black bird with no wings
Sing little black bird sing, sing your song
For I can sit here all day long
Wondering what went, what went wrong?
Sing little black bird sing sing your song
Take your time for I'm all ears
I've been watching you for all these years

I'm not sure what was worse yesterday, the punishing wind or the continuous, harsh sunlight in a cloudless sky. I was wondering if the forecast clouds were going to appear. But they did.
I found myself just South of Dovestone Tor when the light broke, just for a few minutes. I managed to catch the light hitting Pike Low with the patchwork fields on its Southern flanks.
A vintage Royal typewriter with manual metal keys stuck together, illuminated by a strobe or flash with a snoot wrapped it. The directed light came from the right in a dark room.
Fun. A good way to entertain myself these days. An earlier version from ten years ago in first comment box.
flies... passes... is priceless...
The question is the same... What is time?
Something we don't understand, but feel that we are losing...
We continue to measure time in years... months... days...
And we still think that we can postpone things for when "we'll have time"...
Time is just a sequence of memories... of lessons...
That's how we should measure time...
