Due to PTC and a new shuttle train elevator being built, Endicott is the epicenter of grain operations on WATCO's Hooper and Pleasant ValleySubs. During harvest season, the elevator will load multiple unit trains for shiment to the coast. I believe they run all the way to Portland rather than transloading to a barge at Wallula like they previously did.
On this morning I was hanging around Lower Monument Dam when an empty grainer of UP cars came scooting up the Snake River. Suspecting that it was the shuttle train, I was able to catch it here coming into the elevator at Endicott.

I don't recall seeing any of these in France before. As we pulled into this supermarket stop a Mk1 Espace was heading away.
The Light Space2Surface shuttle is a commonly used vehicle throughout the galaxy. When you feel the urge to swoop along the surface on some unfamiliar moon on your ZeroG-Board you need some kind of quick transportation to take you down there.

This is my entry in the Classic Space Era Spaceship competition on Eurobricks. It has foldable landing gear and the traveller can snap their board in the rear.
It was difficult to get enthusiastic about United's Bristol REs when they weer in this dismal allover red livery, and anyway the NBC was not the reason for my visit to this area ! I don't think 4262 was in passenger service by this time either, and was being used as a driver shuttle bus between the depot and town.
Not for much longer though, as later in the year it went over the Irish Sea to Citybus, where it ran for a further 4 years before being the victim of an arson attack, the unfortunate fate of so many vehicles at the time.
Bishop Auckland bus station, 8/7/85
This project started out with me seeing some concept art by Ivan Tantsiura. The engines in particular really caught my attention. More boxy than what you normally see. So I decided to run with the concept.
The idea behind the shuttle itself was less scientific like NASAs shuttles, and more commercial. Carrying corporate employees to stations in Earth orbit. So the interior is more luxurious than you might expect with plenty of leg room. Even the cockpit has some measure of luxury, despite a lot of that being overridden with function The seat would have neural ports for the pilots to control the aircraft, something I couldn't manage on the model itself but the idea lives on in my imagination. Now, on the other hand, you don't want to waste money on too much luxury, so the rear cargo bay is bare metal with industrial warnings and hardpoints for securing luggage. Really embracing that military cargo bay feel. All in all I am really happy with the interior. I even managed to make room for figs!
I had just as much fun with the exterior. I wanted a super clean look that was reminiscent of our real-world shuttles, but still carried on more sci-fi design cues. The engines are an obvious start to that concept. Those were taken wholesale from the concept art I mentioned earlier, then modified and adapted to suit what I had in mind. The rest of the shuttle took shape from an early sketch I did of the top profile. And I swear I was using that leading edge design before the UCS Batwing was announced, that's what I'm saying to make myself feel better at least.
Obviously, another important part of the exterior is the color blocking. The orange came pretty naturally. It contrasts well without being too bright. And the part availability meant I had access to enough parts to really clean up the lines. The orange section on the underside makes me especially happy.
And that's really a good note to end on, I'm just really happy with this build. It let me have some fun and I think the final pruduct reflects that. As always, instructions are available on Rebrickable. rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-89840/AsgardianStudio/cyberpunk-...

A BNSF empty grain shuttle X-KALCVN9-01 heads across the causeway between the Clark Fork River and Frog Pond west of Trout Creek, Montana, on Montana Rail Link's 4th Subdivision. I can't think of too many things that I'd rather do than hang out by a fire and fish at dusk in Montana in the Fall!
Great Western 14xx class No. 1450 heads down Eardington bank with a shuttle to Hampton Loade, on the Severn Valley railway.
A two-car R68 (S) pair (Westinghouse-Amrail, 1986-1988) leads a six-car train up the Brighton Line, passing Cortelyou Rd station. This train was heading to Prospect Park to swap out a shuttle train that had gotten tagged, so that it could be taken back to Coney Island Yard to be cleaned. Of note is that the lead motor, car 2924, is the last in the series of R68s.

This quiet backwater of the Central Line used to be operated by experimental motor cars built by Cravens in 1960. These sandwiched pre-1938 'standard stock' trailers with clerestory roofs. These cars were painted silver to match the unpainted aluminium of the Craven cars. This is a standard stock trailer interior. Note the flourescent lighting - fitted to match the Cravens motor cars. Aug 1973.

1:37 (minifig) scale orbiter
This is version 1.x of a space shuttle orbiter made with 100% LEGO bricks. The exact scale is about 1:36.7, and this was arrived at based on the brick-built hatch, which is the first component I built. It has many features including:
* retractable landing gear
* poseable elevons and split rudder
* poseable SSMEs
* opening payload bay doors
* poseable Canadarm and Ku-band antenna
* room for payloads (almost to scale) including the OBSS
* room for minifig inside spacehab tunnel
* detailed flight deck and mid deck with room for minifigs; includes removable roof and side panel for playability
* operable side hatch and airlock hatches
* removable forward RCS pod and OMS pods
* crew compartment lighting
* Brick built nose countours and crew compartment windows
In version 2 I aim to motorize some components and improve some sections including the vertical stabilizer (which is a bit wide) and OMS pods (which are slightly oversize)

On Wednesday, September 19th Space Shuttle Endeavour took of from the Shuttle Landing Facility at NASA's Kennedy Space Center to begin her journey to California for display. After overnight stays at both Ellington Field in Texas and NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center, Endeavour would land for the final time at Los Angeles International Airport on September 21, 2012.
One recent development that has passed me by has been the withdrawal at the end of April 2019 of the Stockport Metroshuttle free bus service.
Pictured just under ten years ago is an earlier generation of vehicle on the service, with Solutions SK (the arms-length service company of Stockport Council) Optare Solo MX03 EHC, sub-contracted to Brookfield (Freshfield), pending SK Solutions being granted an O-licence. Both operators' legal lettering can be seen in this view taken from the A6 viaduct, looking down onto the bus station below.
