Since 1992, badminton has been a Summer Olympic sport with five events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.
The shuttlecock cone is formed from 16 or so overlapping feathers, usually goose or duck, embedded into a rounded cork base. The cork is covered with thin leather. To ensure that shuttlecock rotate consistently, only feathers from the birds' left wings are used. Feather shuttles may come off the strings at speeds in excess of 320 km/h (200 mph).

A bit of an oddball movement makes it’s way down the Michigan Line here in Kalamazoo. Two Amtrak GE P32-8WBHs 519 and 518 head west with a MOW ballast train by BO tower. This was a welcomed (but very brief) change of pace as the west end of this line normally see’s nothing but exactly eight passenger trains everyday, each operating with only two of Amtrak’s fifteen ITCS equipped P42DCs.

Afternoon light catching bare tree branches at the Temple of Sinawava, shuttle stop #9 on the Zion National Park loop. I visited on a whim on the return leg of a road trip and it ended up being one of the most satisfying vacation days of my life, thanks to fresh eyes, Fall light, and mild temperature.

It was an interesting afternoon of photography in Glacier National Park Montana as showers moved across the mountains which resulted in periods of rain alternating with glimpes of the sun. The light was interesting. This photo was taken when sunlight hit the mountains for a minute. This shuttle stop is located where The Going-To-The-Sun Highway makes a hairpin turn known as The Loop on the west side of the Continental Divide. On the Skyline in this photo Clements Mountain is on the right; Mount Oberlin is on the right center; Logan Pass in the left center and The Garden Wall is on the left side. On the mountainside beneath the Garden Wall, the trace of the highway as it climbs to the pass can be seen. Parking can be difficult along the Going-To-The-Sun Highway can be difficult during peak visitation. The shuttle system offers rides for hikers and others that want to park their car but get to other sites along the route.

BNSF's Cheyenne Local power consisting of EMD SD70MAC No. 9880 and GE ES44AC No. 6229 shuttle the Alliance to Portland high-priority intermodal train north through Norfolk, Colorado, on June 26, 2023. Once the train gets to Cheyenne, the power will be taken off and the local crew will add the original power back on before it detours over the Union Pacific west of Cheyenne.

A symbol of Helmond's industrial heritage, the flying shuttle was invented by the Englishman John Kay in 1733. Here in this unique photo are two of his direct descendants. I knew I needed to be on the south side of the bridge for the best light. I then searched around for an hour for a suitable foreground. I liked the lines of the roadway, the counter balance of the boat under the bridge. I'm very happy with the finished product.
The Light Space2Surface shuttle is a commonly used vehicle throughout the galaxy. When you feel the urge to swoop along the surface on some unfamiliar moon on your ZeroG-Board you need some kind of quick transportation to take you down there.

This is my entry in the Classic Space Era Spaceship competition on Eurobricks. It has foldable landing gear and the traveller can snap their board in the rear.
Amtrak shuttle train 470 from New Haven is moments from its arrival in Springfield as it scoots up Main 2 at about MP 60.5 on Amtrak's ex New Haven Springfield Line main with the standard two car consist of an Amfleet and an ex Metroliner cab car pushed by a P42DC. Bracketing the train is an ancient signal bridge that once spanned four tracks in the glorious days long past.
If anyone has or can direct me to some photos of this spot in New Haven days and/or a map of the mains and adjacent yard that used to be here I'd love to see it.
