The Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha is not the greatest time to visit Indonesia. It is a time to spend with family, which means that absolutely nothing is open for business, as you can see in this photo of what is supposed to be the bustling business district in Makassar, Indonesia.

This is standard issue, old-school Forest Service building detail. On many of their old cabins and guard stations, at least in the Intermountain Region, the windows are bordered by forest green pine tree shutters.

More Harris Shutter work, using the flash on a snow-covered tree while large flakes are coming down. I used the blue layer from each of three images so the non-moving things are essentially monochrome (and the sky isn't that weird ruddy color).
Taken out the window of a Landrover. I set my shutter speed very low and follow focused on a spot on the ground as we zoomed by.

Tilt the shutter up to let in light and protect the floors. Duette honeycombs below provide privacy and light control.
Practicing using slow shutter speeds. Easier said than done! Out of about 200, these are the best. None of the full dark photos turned out. :/ Aahhhh, the joys of being a beginner.
