Hal Dawson with 2 knives.

They are identical except that the one on the right has been his main knife for 20 years and has been getting sharpened regularly during all that time, The one on the right was bought last Autumn and has been used very little in that time.

He prefers his old knife!

amazing that the steel that has disappeared has disappeared as imperceptible steel dust during sharpening. Watching Hal, he does sharpen the knife a lot!

We had an enjoyable day on this course yesterday – “Cooking with Fire”

Organised by the “On The Hoof” in their outdoor kitchen on the edge of Gosford Forest Park with Hal Dawson. Hal is one of the most knowledgeable fishmongers in the Island of Ireland and was imparting loads of knowledge and tips on the sourcing and preparation of fish.

Pizza oven, hot smoker, and a couple of barbeques with all sorts of attachments were all burning away. Plaice, salmon, mackerel, hake, monkfish, oysters, mussels and more filleted/prepared/cooked. We were eating delicious fish/shellfish all day and learned a lot about fish and cooking.

Let's see what are the advantages of using shrink bags-:

1. Protection

The shrink bags get tightly sealed with the heat effect used while packaging.

Therefore, it keeps the object wholly protected from any possible damage.

2. Durability

The material from which shrink film is made is highly durable plastic.

Therefore, it stays for a longer duration as it is strong.

3. No Tampering

Even the slightest tempering can easily be noticed if the object is wrapped using a shrink bag as it is transparent.

4. Space Is Maximized

A fantastic feature of shrink bags is that they are designed for maximizing space.

They keep bundled items together without the usage of bulky items like boxes.

5. Affordable

The reason why most of the people prefer using shrink bags for gift packaging and the product packaging is the affordability it offers.
