I fabricated this desk lamp for Debbie from a variety of metal-plated parts: a nickel-plated antique marine lamp with port and starboard lights, a highly-polished aluminum heat sink plate from a Macintosh G5 computer, stainless-steel adjustable feet, a chrome-plated water supply line and a nickel-plated lamp finial.

I used shrink tubing to separate the electrical connections. It has to be slid on before the wires are soldered, slid over the soldered connections, and heated with a kitchen match to shrink tightly.
