Looking northeast at the site of 1391 and 1395 Lakeview Road in the Glenville neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, where a part of the "Glenville shootout" occurred on July 23-24, 1968.

1405 Lakeview is on the right. The empty lot to its left is probably 1401 Lakeview.

Where the power substation is today is where 1381, 1385, 1389, 1391, and 1395 Lakeview Road were located.

Just who fired first, and where they were, is not clear. But at the beginning of the gun battle, about four gunmen were standing on the north and south corners of the intersection of Beulah Avenue and Lakeview Road, aiming west at a tow truck and a Cleveland Police Department (CPD) unmarked vehicle. Gunman Leroy Mansfield Williams was killed on Beulah Avenue, most likely by police fire from the unmarked vehicle.

The gunmen then fled east across Lakeview Road into an alley-like sidewalk between 1391 and 1389 Lakeview. They turned south, following more of this very narrow alley-like path, and an unknown number of gunmen broke in the back door of 1395 Lakeview. They rushed upstairs, barricading the door behind them, and began firing at the police.

1395 Lakeview was the home of the Rev. Henry L. Perryman, his wife, and their nine-month-old son. Police claim the gunmen burst in on Mrs. Perryman, forcing her to flee for her child's life. But Mrs. Perryman claims that no gunmen entered her house. Instead, the police began firing automatic weapons at her home, and then pumping tear gas projectiles through her windows. She claims she then fled out the back door, and the gunmen rushed inside after she was gone.

The police rushed into 1391 Lakeview, next door. The two homes were separated by a narrow space about three or four feet in width. Mrs. Beatrice Flagg and her children occupied 1391 Lakeview. Police claim they used bullhorns to order Mrs. Flagg and her family out, and the family evacuated. Only then did police occupy her home and use the first and second floor to fire at the gunment at 1395 Lakeview. Mrs. Flagg, however, claims that she had no warning: The first thing she knows, the police are firing autmomatic weapons through her windows and walls, and tear gas canisters into her home. She and her children fled via the back door.

The gun battle at 1391 and 1395 Lakeview lasted until about midnight. Police finally charged into 1395 Lakeview, but found the stairs to the second floor barricaded with a steel wedge and furniture. A few minutes later, a fire broke out at 1395 Lakeview. Police claim they heard someone yell, "Omar! Omar!" and someone reply, "Ali!" No Cleveland Fire Department firefighters attempted to put out the blaze, as the CPD felt the firemen would come under fire from snipers.

1395 Lakeview burned to the ground. 1391 Lakeview caught fire, and also burned to the ground.

No determination was made as to how the fire broke out. Rev. Perryman, however, accused the CPD of setting the blaze in an attempt to burn the gunmen out.

No bodies were ever found in either home.

Round 2 of ND filter shootout starts today. This time I am using variable ND's.

A gunfight rages on between a crazed maniac and police forces. Time setting is near future, somewhere around 2014...

People have been disappearing for more than 4 months, each without a single trace, and never heard from again. After his latest abduction, that crazed man unknowingly commits his crime under the watch of security cameras. Now with a lead, a police squad assembles and follows the man to his run down shack...

This MOC was inspired by the scene from chapter 3 season 1 of The Mandalorian TV show where Mandalorian survivors confront the bounty hunters guild to help Din Djarin escape with Baby Yoda (or The Child) from Nevarro City. It's the first time I ever tried third-party LED lights in a MOC and I think it turned out really well. I'm happy with all the details, especially the big arch/gate and the rockwork, but unfortunately I ran out of some crucial pieces and wasn't able to make the whole MOC as detailed as I wanted. However, it still looks pretty decent I think.

Tombstone, Arizona ~ The Town Too Tough To Die

The most famous event in Tombstone's history was the famed Gunfight at the OK Corral, which didn't actually happen at the corral, but in a vacant lot on Fremont Street. On October 26, 1881, members of the "Cowboys" had a run-in with Wyatt, Virgil and Morgan Earp with help from Wyatt's friend Doc Holliday. 24 seconds and 30 shots later, Billy Clanton, Tom and Frank McLaury were mortally wounded.
