Took a trip to an indoor shooting range today with a group of friends. Pictured here is my buddy Paul firing his Ruger Vaquero .44 Magnum. Not only was this lucky timing on the shot itself; it was also the final bullet in the box!

The snipers of the Spanish Lepanto Battalion train their marksmanship near Folldal during Exercise Trident Juncture in Folldal, Norway, Oct. 26, 2018. They make use of the .50-caliber Barrett and the .338-caliber Accuracy sniper rifles, firing at targets over 1.000 meters away. The battalion is part of the Italian Ariete Brigade and through 2018 on stand-by as Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) for the NATO Response Force (NRF). In total some 50.000 troops, 10.000 vehicles, 250 aircraft and 65 ships from 29 NATO Nations and Sweden and Finland take part in the exercise.

On weapon training to be "Polar Bear guards". Not all persons have the same focus. But for the record everyone on the picture is serious and do an excellent job as guards.

Exercise Trident Juncture 2015 will be held through October and November, predominantly in, over and on the seas around Portugal, Spain and Italy. It is one of a series of long-planned exercises to ensure that NATO Allies are ready to deal with any emerging crisis, from any direction, and that they are able to work effectively with partners in tackling any crisis. Over 36,000 personnel from 30 nations will take part – that includes NATO Allies as well as seven partner nations (Australia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Sweden and Ukraine).

A short video of someone shooting- these are real guns for chrissakes! The cacophony of gunfire was deafening, no wonder they insist on ear muffs before you actually go in to shoot. Although one of the guards at the site shooed us off, since we were not actually shooting, the guns appeared to be mounted on old jeeps, probably captured American jeeps fixed as is at the site.
