Shell Beach is a little North of Pismo Beach. The area sits above the water on some cliffs that give a pretty good view of the Pacific Ocean. The rock features and tide pools offer a nice foreground for landscapes.
This was my second attempt at getting a nice sunset picture in the area. The previous night I tried at the Montana de Oro State Park. There weren't many clouds in the sky on either night, but the smoke from the L. A. area fires blew this direction and made for interesting color on the horizon.
C'è una armonia nascosta nelle cose semplici della natura..
quella armonia, di forme e di colori, parla un linguaggio universale

le conchiglie non le ho sistemate io, mi hanno colpito perché erano disposte così..

Lots of detail in this beautiful shell, underlined by very nice lighting.
I was in a bit of a hurry when shooting so I forgot to compensate for bellows extension. Developed the sheet a bit longer to get it to roundabout EI 125. I guessed the extended development time but got it pretty much spot on, it seems. Very happy with this shot!

Tiny shells in a bigger shell.
My new flash finally arrived today, I've never used a "real" flash so it's going to be a bit of a learning curve to say the least :-)

I am using November prompts from Doodlewash.com. I may not use every one and wont make this one cat related. Nov. 2 is "shell" and I happened to have a nice conch shell.
The Shell is a swimming pool in a little place called Bergen op Zoom,
The Netherlands. Its location is right next to the water on the
boulevard of the Bergse Plaat (a district in Bergen op Zoom).
This swimming pool's got the shape of a seashell, hence its name "The Shell".
At night The Shell looks absolutely stunning. The lighting makes the
colors of this building really stand out.

None of these items are native to the Pacific Northwest Coast but I have them in our beach house just the same! ( "
Seen from Shell Falls National Recreation Trail... off of US highway 14 - Big Horn Scenic Byway, Shell Creek Canyon - Wyoming.
An older photo that I found recently, showing some of the shells I've collected on Gulf of Mexico beaches.
Taken on a trip to Wales in July 2012.
Whilst allowing Mrs RJP to take in some rays on Oxwich Beach, I cracked out the 105mm Macro lens and had a play.
One of the buildings near the cathedral is built of stone containing fossilized shells millions of years old, quarried from the region, which is now a long way from the sea.
"Vous pouvez y voir des fossiles de coquillages datant de plusieurs millions d’années. Cette pierre, le grès coquillier, a été extraite dans le Nord du Canton de Vaud. Elle atteste de la présence dans toute la région de vastes mers, il y a fort longtemps."
