Locals collect various shellfish and snails on the mudflats. Sometimes they cause a little disturbance to the shorebirds but this is preferable to the area being reclaimed and developed. Industrial development in the background of this image.

I don't know what it is but I don't want to put it in my mouth.
Found on the beach at the arbitrary point chosen to divide the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The only place in the world where you can paddle in both within the same minute. I was expecting clear blue tropical waters teaming with vibrantly coloured fish on the left and stormy dark murky waters on the right.

Work is less than ideal at the moment, so I went out and wandered along on the beach. The gulls were having fun and it cheered me up no end.
