During our 25-day summer vacation in 1984, we drove through Maine.
We ate dinner at Superior Shellfish Lobster Shack in Searsport, Maine. The lobsters and steamers were delicious!
My youngest son, Bryce, bought a stuffed seagull in their gift shop. He named it "Test Pilot Seagull".

Sometimes I make panos because what's up there is too big to see. Tonight I made one because my eyes saw what was there but the lens just couldn't get all of it. Plus, I discovered that removing distortion before flying it out of Canon's software to Photoshop makes it possible to put together panos from a 14mm. Nice!

Millions of tiny baby quahogs (and a few other shellfish) have meet their demise on the shallow sand flat tide pools of Cape Cod Bay. These are just a few of the ones that didn't make it. The beach is covered with them, all no more than 2 or 3 millimeters wide.
These are all dead, but many do survive though, to become adult hard shell clams called quahogs.
As adults, the clam's outer shell will become a thick hard shell, with a drab beige-grey color. However, the beautiful purple color remains INSIDE the shell, and can be seen if the adult clam shell is open, or if you crack one to eat!! They are delicious!!
