I proceeded to gouge the top right with a screwdriver while trying to force in an ebony plug that wasn't quite right, and had to strip the whole damn thing and start over. By this time, most of the plugs were already glued in...so the second attempt at shellac ended up being a bit mucked up...goop around some of the plugs, on the plugs, etc.
I fixed it up pretty good, and now that it's on the wall you don't notice unless you look really close. Or when I tell you about it, like I just did.
