always fun to find the mantle out when you see a cowry during daytime! and this cowry was rather big - much bigger than the palm of my hand. and its a survivor! Notice the two dings in the shell above the opening

Many cool shells there that day. I wonder if this one is there because there is a hole in the rock, or if there is a hole in the rock because it is there.

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding... And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy”

Margate, Kent, England. In 1835 Mr James Newlove lowered his son into a hole in the ground while digging a pond. The young boy re-appeared and spoke of an underground labyrinth of chambers covered in strange symbolic mosaics of shells. It is still unclear exactly what the purpose of this grotto was but many believe it to have been an ancient pagan temple, whilst others dismiss it as being the meeting place of a strange cult.

Woke up this morning to Sam's empty shell. There was no sign of Sam anywhere. He must be in hiding under the sand.

He did materialise the next day, in a different shell.
