The complex of irregular, pustulose geyserite knobs here somewhat resembles the interior of an articulated tridacnid bivalve shell.

Millions upon millions of shells make up this beach. Sharp little buggers....

Shell Montage fabric by Phillip Jacobs, Top made by Gloria Black, Quilting by Martha Steele. This is another one of Gloria's original designs. A good way to use those large prints.

I just got a new camera and had tons of fun playing around with it! My pictures look so much better already.

Until December I'd never heard of a shell wreck, let alone seen one. Basically, from what I understand, every now and then a certain set of circumstances result in a LOT of shells being 'wrecked' on a shore. This wreck went on for a good quarter of a mile, if not longer. It was wide and it was deep, really deep. And it was mostly full of razor shells. Poor things, there must have been millions and millions of them. Great for hungry waders. Not so great for the North Norfolk population of razor shells.

Holiday Island Resort (Dhiffushi), South Ari Atoll, Maldives, Indian Ocean

Shell Island, also known as Mochras, is a peninsula lying west of Llanbedr in Gwynedd, Wales. It was formed after the River Artro was diverted by the Earl of Winchelsey in 1819 from its previous course where it entered the sea to the south of Shell Island. Prior to this, access to the ancient settlement on the island would have been through the village of Llandanwg, which is now across the estuary.

The amount of big shells that have been washing up due to the storms is amazing...

Guys got shell leis instead of flower leis.

While on Holiday with the family in Shell Island we watched an amazing sunset... who needs photo editing when they're captured just like this!

Nice clear photo. The picket corn cribs were usually not too much fun to shell.

"One of my favorite things to do while vacationing in Parksville is beach-combing. I always find the most beautiful shells, sand dollars, and drift wood. I have quite a collection now which goes perfectly in my beach themed bathroom." - Katya Small, 2012 myPQB Story Contest

Former Shell station in Cisco, Utah.

Where Kowalski (Barry Newman) drove the '70 Dodge Challenger R/T into the bulldozers in the original "Vanishing Point" movie.

The car that they blew up was actually a '67 Chevrolet Camaro and in the movie Cisco is supposed to be in California.
